People pile complex things that they don't understand into labelled boxes.
And so they end up with the "good person" box and the "happiness" box...
And the "integrity" box.
Outside Morality
I do and will talk a lot about integrity, but I am not laying down pillars. I do not mean "integrity" in the sense of Good and Bad. I have no interest in criticizing people for "lacking integrity." And I will not tell you that you should work to develop it.
I mean 'integrity' as something closer to the engineering sense, like the structural integrity of a bridge: internally coherent and free from fragmentation.
A person's integrity is their navigation system. It is required for the full and healthy cohesion of their perceptual faculties.
Consider reading that last sentence again.
Practicality
An abstraction can have a pragmatic benefit, as long as it has a short expiration date. Therefore I don't recommend going around like a tourist with a guide book trying to locate behavior that displays integrity or its absence.
Concepts are only practical when they work like a SWAT team: in, out, done.
Understanding transmitted. Disassemble.
