It’s the reality right now. There’s a fight on our hands. As a Jewish community and really as a society. But most importantly as people, you and I. Will you and I strengthen our Jewish student community to feel safe while on campus?

Will you and I give them the resources to continue to be Jewish like it’s nobody’s business. Will we show up when students need us most?

Even as a Jewish UCSB leader. Why bother? It’s so painful. Let’s look elsewhere. Focus on something else. But the thing is.
No Jewish student should have to expect hate while wearing their Jewish identity.

No Jewish student should think twice before having a Mezuzah on their door.
And no Jewish student should fear going to classes because of vicious double standards applied to Israel. So...

So this is the plan. On April 5th, one thousand (!) Jewish students, friends, faculty and staff will come together at one Shabbat dinner with Jewish pride and unity. It’s going to be loud. And we’re going to be Jewish proud. Together. Yup. Here at UCSB.
