When I was getting started in product, it was really hard for me to parse out the difference between vision, mission, and strategy.
Sometimes it's nice to revisit the basics, so here's a quick breakdown:
Typically just shy of "make the world a better place."
Some sort of fantastical image of the world in which we all live.
There are actually two types of strategy:
Business strategy is your plan of action that precludes your competitors from eating your piece of cake.
Product strategy is your plan of action that achieves your vision according to your mission.
Understanding these basic definitions is critical to understanding how to envision and prioritize the business you are building.
