Have you ever studied for hours wondering why no matter what you do, nothing seems to stick?
That was me back in 2020 fumbling around as a high school student trying to learn without knowing how. Fast forward four years I am a now Deans Honours List student, achieving results in the top 3% of my university cohort without needing to study more than one to two hours a day.
What changed? I learned how to learn. Here is one tip to get you started:
Tip #1 Learn how the engine of learning works:
Plenty of people can drive a car but not many can fix them. The same goes for learning. If you want to be an effective learner you can't just learn how to do the motions and "study", you also need to understand the fundamentals behind how learning works. Obtain a first principles level of knowledge about the learning process and build your studying system in a way that leverages those principles.
Top students know what they're doing and more importantly WHY they're doing it (and that's no accident).
Will you take a step towards being one?
