What are the steps usually followed by a person lacking a productivity system?
We focused yesteday on the steps a person with a productivity system in place must follow. But does lacking a productivity system equate to not following any steps? Not at all, there are other ways of achieving things, perhaps not so structured or systematic.
Let's take a look at what these could be:
5 steps for somebody not using a productivity system:
1️⃣ Begin with the most urgent task: If there is no sytem in place, there's a great chance of you being swayed by the latest and loudest, which rarely coincides with the most important or highest priority.
2️⃣ Work in blocks of time to maintain focus: If you go a decent amount of time undistracted, that's a great news, it's something not much people get.
3️⃣ Prioritize tasks as you go: You may trust your gut and get it right or you might simply mislead your efforts.
4️⃣ Take breaks as needed: Rest is another key component of any productive endeavor.
5️⃣ At the end of the day, reflect on what was accomplished: This may take the form of something less fomal than the review we talked about in the previous section. Yes, some kind of review is better than none. Altough not having a system in place deprives you of having a complete, up-to-date and actionable inventory of reminders and, therefore, becomes less reliable for your own brain.
Are the steps seen yesterday and today's steps helpful in clarifying your options?
