Feminist scrapbooker writing about the intersection of storytelling, creative habits, and modern scrapbooking. East Lansing, MI via North Jersey.

As a scrapbooker, your camera is one of your most-used tools.

But what is the best camera for scrapbooking? The camera that you've got on you. You don't need a fancy high-end camera to get great results.

You need to take photos with the camera you've already got.

Start with your mobile phone

The cameras in our phones are amazing and take incredible photos.

For the last 5 years, I've taken 100% of my photographs with my iPhone. It's easy, I can edit and print right on the phone. And the quality of the pictures is awesome. Portrait mode anyone?

The camera you've been looking for is right in your pocket.

Try another camera if you've got it

If you've already got another camera that you love -- use that.

Maybe you're a DSLR person or you've got a point & shoot that works like a charm -- that's your camera. Don't search any further for the best camera or the perfect camera. You've already got the camera you need.

The best camera for scrapbooking is the one you're already using.

Use the camera you've got in hand

No matter what camera you have, you can take great pictures to scrapbook.

Photography is a skill. With practice, the more photos you take, the better you will become. You don't need a fancy or expensive camera to get great photos for your scrapbook.

You just need to show up with what you've got and give it a go.
