The Importance of Not Being Ashamed of Posting Your Progress Online as a College Student
Ryan Hidalgo

It is essential for a beginner in the gym to recognize and be proud of your progress. With that said, you will need to overcome the fear of posting your progress, as posting your progress is a great way to boost your confidence and, over time, see the results of your effort.

Most people post on social media all the time, but when it comes to showing off progress, especially fitness-related, some people might be too anxious. This is understandable, and it happens for many reasons, such as feeling like they don't look good enough or feeling like they will get bullied or criticized.

To address the first issue of not feeling like you look good enough to post your progress, there is no standard, to begin with, so don't feel ashamed no matter how 'bad' you might look. It is you against you, so you should only be comparing yourself to you of yesterday and no one else.

We never start out looking fantastic, and everyone has to start somewhere. As time passes, you will realize how far you have come if you track your progress. One thing you will never regret is giving your future-self reminders of how far you have come.

The second point of getting bullied or criticized is also a fair concern, but you again have to realize it is you against you and no one else. Focusing on yourself will send you farther in the gym and all areas of life, so don't care what other people say about your dreams or goals because they are yours and yours alone.
