You need only one keyboard shortcut to regain the clarity of work in SketchUp.
Unfortunately, in the hustle and bustle of work, we are often so busy that we don't have time to develop and learn.
Yet sometimes best solution are right in front of us.
It does not matter what your reason is
too many orders
fixation on known solutions
feeling that you already know everything
I want to show you that learning can be done quickly and in small steps.
As the complexity of the design increases, the field of view can become unreadable.
All these elements obscure each other and it's really difficult to position the camera correctly to get a good field of view.
There is a well known solution, but not many use it efectively.
When you edit a group or a component that is close to other elements, you cannot always see it from all sides. This function hides the rest of the model while you edit it.
I can assure you that active use of it really helps.
Hotkeys are a huge speedup for your work, it's worth using them.
Setting hotkeys is available at Window > Preferences > Shortcuts.
In the filter box, type "Hide rest of the model" and assign the shortcut of your choise.
It is always worth having the best functions at hand.
Believe me, quickly switching between hiding the rest of the model and displaying the entire context unlocks additional levels of creativity.
You will not waste any more time setting up your view.
