Timeular Automations

Zapier

The easiest way to set up automations with Timeular is with the built in integration with Zapier. In order to use the Zapier integration you need an account on Zapier. This is a great service anyway outside of Timeular so highly recommended getting into Zapier. From there you can search for Timeular and then connect it as an app within your Zapier account. In order to connect it will ask for your Timeular API key and API secret. These are like passwords for your Timeular account. You can obtain them from your Timeular profile page. Once added you can then add it as a trigger in a Zap.

The actions can be whatever you want with whatever apps and services you have available to you.

Focus Mode

I'm personally experimenting with making it a focus trigger by setting up my computer into a set focus or context mode with relevant apps and webpages that load. It requires a few things happening at once at multiple steps. The following is an example for my writing activity:

1. I turn my Timeular to the writing activity side.

2. Through Zapier this is a trigger than ends up running something on my main computer.

3. My wallpaper to Iron Man's workshop

4. It opens up Obsidian (my writing tool), and opens up Twitter and Typeshare pages (where I post my writing).

5. On only Fridays it also opens up my newsletter service (Convertkit) page.

I'm just at the beginning but that gives you an idea of what can be done. The time tracking can simply be a bonus side effect of something more practical and wide reaching. Forming an entire focus mode for my systems.
