My Building a Second Brain 18 Months Later

I took Tiago Forte's Building a Second Brain cohort over a year ago. I've since amended and adapted things for me, specifically how I organise PARA (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archives).

I've mostly themified it to make it a more fun but I've also recently been rethinking it as I'm using it more and as it fits into an entire life operating system more than simply where to keep and use notes.

Instead of PARA, I have Campaigns, Classes, Guilds, Library and Vault.

Vault is equivalent to Archive where I put finished materials.

Library is my Resources and it goes beyond just notes as it's where I keep all types of assets and resources. Books, digital media, programming resources and scripts etc.

Campaigns are higher larger goals or life purposes. These could be years long and have a Map to get there made up of Quests.

Classes are the aspects of who I am and my self responsibilities and improvements. Instead of fighter, cleric etc, think father, husband, systems designer. I'm going to add (automation) wizard as an actual class to work on though.

Guilds are my responsibilities to other things or places. So this could be house, company I work for, marriage. I deliberately added a similar overlapping example to Classes with marriage and husband. I think there is value to thinking in these in different ways to improve and be responsible for. Guilds and Classes together are my equivalent of Areas but I feel like the distinction of having roles brings in higher purpose to it.

I don't have direct equivalents of Projects at this top level. But I do have Quests as the equivalent. These are quests within Campaigns, Classes and Guilds. All can generate Quests and be interrelated.

Classes and and Guilds may have smaller tasks than full quests (I need a themified name for tasks, suggestions welcome).
