We said adieus to 2021 and ushered in a new year. Looking back on our glorious failures, moments of pride, we are buoyed to renew pledges to hit goals, take on new habits( I am writing!), the bucket lists, yadda, yadda, yadda.
And so we begin, raring to go on with our new lives. Only it's not new, it's the same old one with shiny new dates. In all this, we forget something important, LUCK! Good or bad it's the wind that determines the course of our paths, regardless of our well-laid plans and commitment. Let me explain...
#We are lucky to be ALIVE!
There are 1001 ways we could have croaked. But here we here. Sounds harsh, eh? Sorry, the truth is never pretty.
Being alive and healthy makes all the difference. Those gone do not have the opportunity to write, ace that skill, learn healthy living, make new friends - you get my drift. That is NOT to say every one of our dearly departed was just unlucky. We, the living, just have the opportunity to rebuild.
#Being surrounded by people who make it possible.
You are lucky if you have family, friends, colleagues, a community that provides an enabling environment and support to reach those goals and stick to those habits. Of course, there are always the rare exceptions of those who still succeed regardless of the odds. But for most of us, our close circle makes all the difference.
So when you pray, pray for good luck.
