3 Topics I'm Exploring Right Now
Steven Zakrocki

There are 3 topics I am actively thinking about a lot these days:

Topic #1: Elder Law

We've added elder law (long term care/special needs planning) as a practice area in our firm.

Our over 65 population is growing. We are living longer. Which means many of us will need long term care.

In fact, according to the U.S. Census, 49.2 million Americans are over 65, with that number growing to 78 million in 2030, outnumbering children for the first time in history.

Topic #2: Estate Planning for Younger People

Most people think estate planning is only for older folks who have a lot of money. Not true.

It's also about more than planning for who gets your stuff when you're gone.

When you turn 18, your parents no longer have access to your medical information and can't make health care decisions for you.

If you have minor children, you need to decide and document who will take care of them if you no longer can.

And if you become disabled, who will take are of you?

You can plan for all of this before the unexpected happens.

Topic #3: Writing Online

I also have an interest in learning more about writing onlinešŸ˜‰.

It's one of those fun rabbit holes I find myself exploring simply because I enjoy it, and because it will help me get the word out on Topics 1 and 2 above.

It would be great to connect with other people who are interested in these same topics—so if any of the above resonates, feel free to reach out!
