I left the NHS 5 years ago and in that time. I’ve built a network. Launched my business and helped others turn their ideas for business into reality
There isn't much I would change about my journey.
But if I could go back, here are a few of the mistakes I made early on and what I would have done differently:
1. Not Niching Down Soon Enough
Early on, I tried to be everything to everyone. I thought casting a wide net meant more opportunities, but it only led to confusion. When I finally focused on helping healthcare professionals transition into business, things clicked.
Now, I know: niche = clarity = growth.
2. Spending Too Much on Courses
I fell into the trap of thinking I needed “just one more course” before taking action. The truth? Learning is important, but execution is what moves the needle. Now, I invest strategically and apply knowledge immediately.
3. Not Prioritising Rest
I worked ridiculous hours, believing hustle was the only way. But burnout doesn’t build businesses. Now, I schedule rest like a meeting—non-negotiable. A well-rested entrepreneur makes better decisions.
Mistakes are lessons. The key is learning and adjusting fast.
