Over the past 2 years, I have read 10 books on personal progress.
And while I enjoyed many of those books, and learned a lot, there is only 1 book I can say truly had a life-changing impact on me:
The Perfection Trap by Thomas Curran.
Some of my biggest takeaways:
Perfectionism often masks fear of failure and judgement.
Because of these fears, perfectionism often leads to procrastination.
Procrastination from being a perfectionist fuels anxiety and gets you stuck.
Perfectionism is not an individual problem only, it's a societal one.
Social media fosters perfectionistic tendencies; be careful.
(Of course, the book goes into detail on all of this. But these are my high-level takeaways.)
So, if you are at all interested in letting go of perfectionism to progress in your life, I highly suggest keeping a copy of The Perfection Trap on your desk.
