Lost in the whirlpool of anger, our mental state becomes too agitated to be sensitive to life. Like stirring up water, it takes time to settle and clear. To observe life, we can return to calmness and concentration, away from anger.

Being lazy zaps us of the energy, patience, and discipline needed to concentrate on Dharma. Without these qualities, we stop our own ability to shine through. This further reduces our capacity to understand life’s tricks.

When we’re moody, maintaining discipline becomes a huge task. The ups and downs of life become even higher up and even further down! This stops us from our natural ability to meditate. We will struggle to be pure to observe Dharma.
