I'm a massive overthinker, and it often drains me down like hell.
These are some of the solutions I usually do to overcome my overthinking:
1) Doing Some Sort Of Physical Activity
I prefer running as it's the most effective way to defeat my overthinking. But often, I cannot manage to go for it. In those cases, I just walk to clear my head. Sometimes with music but other times without any noise.
2) Journaling
Nothing new, quite mainstream, but often, it's still powerful to jot down all the disturbing thoughts I have in my head. While I love handwriting, I mostly prefer just typing in Apple Notes
3) Sharing My Thoughts With My Best Friend
My best friend knows me the most. He is the only one who can give me a different perspective and brutal honesty when I most need it. Almost all of our discussions massively help me to overcome the negative spiral in my mind.
4) NOTHING
Yes, you read it well. I am a human being, and so many times, I just cannot do anything with it. I just let it go through my head. Sometimes, I just lay on my couch and turn on Netflix to bomb my brain with some dumb TV show. So actually, it's nothing, but still, it is.
