How You Can Learn Any Skill In The World With An Internet Connection In 5 Steps
Aleksa Bačilovic

We live in an age of information overflow.

The internet has allowed us to access information like never before.

There is endless content on the internet, but 95% still spend their time consuming on platforms like TikTok and Instagram where short-form content thrives.

5% of people spend their time learning from educational videos, courses, documentaries, and other long-form media.

If you haven't yet, join the 5%.

Self-education has never been easier, as virtually anybody can learn any skill for free, with only an internet connection and a laptop.

That's the power we hold.

Here's how you can learn any skill in 5 steps:

The 5 steps of mastery

  1. Pick your skill- In this case, I'll use writing

  2. Pick your mentors- Scour the internet for mentors and teachers, and go through their free material, and consider paying for courses or coaching from them. Pick 2-4 mentors at most, all covering different aspects of your chosen skill(for example, 2 mentors for copywriting and 2 mentors for content writing)

  3. Outline a project- Start a project and set clear goals concerning your skill. For writing, this could be to start freelancing, build a portfolio, and write 20 practice pieces by the end of the month.

  4. Fail and Learn- Encounter difficulties, setbacks, and failures along your journey. Read through your notes again and seek out specific information from your chosen mentors to get past the obstacle. Once you've done that and successfully moved past whatever was stopping you, you've successfully learned.

  5. Practice. Practice. Practice- Practice in public. Get your work critiqued by other people, get feedback, and iterate on your writing. Practice in private and improve your skills endlessly. Practice is the only way to mastery.

This applies to any skill you could think of.

Bonus advice:
Always choose mentors who are credible and a trusted source in whatever skill you're learning. Beware of fake gurus.

To achieve the best result, pick a skill you can do for the next 10 years and not get bored.

Practice, Fail, Learn, Repeat.

Now go out and learn.
