What advice would I give baby Vern at the start of his career?

These are the first things I thought of.

• The people that write production code aren't your enemy.

• Communicating with your computer is as important as communicating with people, so learn how to read code.

• When a company doesn't value you, look for one that does.

• If money is the goal, the industry you test in is important.

• Become entrepreneurial. It will help you inside and outside of your day job.
