Poor T-Rex.
It really wants that cup of tea over there, but its stumpy little arms just won’t cut it, waving around uselessly.
I very much identify with that T-Rex.
My arms are full-size, but my brain is sometimes too short.
Like when it spins off in a totally different direction instead of doing the writing I want to do.
I’m sure this sounds familiar if you’ve ever tried to write anything ever, right?
So I need a tool.
A long-armed grabber, if you like.
A FRAMEWORK.
This works for me every single time — whether I’m writing a book, an essay, an email, or this post right here.
Maybe it’ll work for you…
What’s your big idea?
Why is it important?
Who is it for?
Why do they need it?
What are the most important aspects of your big idea? (bullet point them out)
What story illustrates your points?
What happens next?
Simply answer these questions, and you’re off.
Maybe it won’t be publish-worthy, but you’ll have a decent first draft.
Which you can edit, and send out.
Imagine what the T-Rex would have been able to accomplish with one of those extendable litter grabbers…
It would have been truly unstoppable.
Like me.
