I am a college student and I have had my fair share off stress. To overly worry about one’s actions can be negative.
However, when something negative does happen, it does not hurt to look inward and understand that actions do have consequences. It is also important to note that there are some things you cannot control. Sometimes trying your best is unironically the best thing you can do.
An author named Don Miguel Ruiz stated that “doing your best you are going to live your life intensely.” I agree with this statement because I believe that doing your best always increases your likelihood of getting the result you want.
Obviously, not everything is going to go your way but having some chance at something is better than no chance. I have had moments where I would not even try at something because I thought I was going to fail. Luckily some of those moments, where I did try, I did end being successful.
Another message he gives is that “you were born with the right to be happy.” I really like this statement. I think it is somewhat true. The reason why I like it though is because it gives me a sense of hope. Things will work out because they have to. That no injustice in one’s life is right or tolerable.
Whether or not it is a right, what prevents us from being happy is a mix of our perceptions and the uncontrollable instances in our life. Some people are mentally just more prone to be pessimistic.
Some uncontrollable circumstances also put us in a position where we feel helpless and unhappy. Sometimes the people around us may intentionally or unintentionally make us feel unhappy. It depends on our perceptions of life and what we consider important or not important.
