I build systems for growth — in health, writing, and business. This is my writing DOJO.

I'm a big fan of Noah Kagan, who's the Chief Sumo at AppSumo.com.

He's just come out with a book called "Million Dollar Weekend." I think that's why he was on The Tim Ferriss Show #717 on Jan. 23rd, probably to talk about his new book.

By the way, if you head over to milliondollarweekend.com, you can grab the 1st chapter of the book for free!

So, I checked out Tim Ferriss' YouTube channel yesterday to catch the podcast. And guess what? It's nearly 4 hours long! I haven't got through the whole thing yet, but I wanted to share a cool takeaway from the first hour.

Here's Noah's Negotiation Secret, broken down:

  1. Start off by saying: "I'm really bad at negotiating." It sets a genuine tone for the conversation.

  2. You want to wrap up the negotiation quickly.

  3. Really listen to what the other person wants.

  4. Think about what would make them want to work with you again in the future.

  5. When it comes to price, be clear about why you're asking for that amount.

I love how stress-free this approach is. It's one of the reasons I've been a huge fan of Noah for over 10 years. His straightforward, no-nonsense way of doing business just makes sense.
