As a digital solopreneur, the journey is often lonely and challenging. Creating a one-person business demands resilience and the ability to handle unexpected situations with composure.
However, dwelling on the past can be futile since it’s beyond change, and fixating too much on the future can lead to a constant sense of lack - the gap between where you are and where you want to be.
To navigate these challenges, it’s crucial to develop habits that ground you in the present moment. While many find traditional meditation difficult, I’ve discovered two simple habits that make a significant difference:
Mindful Walks: Going for a walk and actively seeking out naturally occurring heart-shaped objects - be it rocks, leaves, stains, shadows, or clouds - can be incredibly grounding. This practice not only keeps me present but also serves as a gentle reminder that I am on the right path and not alone. Each heart-shaped find feels like an affirmation of being supported by the universe.
Breathing Exercises: Another powerful yet simple habit is practicing deep breathing exercises. Whenever I feel overwhelmed, I take a moment to focus on my breath. Inhale deeply for four counts, hold for four, and exhale for four. This technique calms my mind and brings me back to the present, allowing me to face challenges with a clear head.
