I tried to write a book for two years, spent $10,000 on a manuscript program, and realized my ideas don’t make sense to anyone but me.
Storytelling: Newsletter versus Book
All stories fit a particular pattern…
1. “Once upon a time…_____fill in the blank____”
2. “But then {Insert Life}”
3. “And here’s what it all means.”
In my post today, I show why writing a book is a terrible fit for my Neurosparkle storytelling style. To publish a book, I needed to decide where the story opens, when it begins, how much backstory to include, and how to fit my message within the confines of a book’s cover.
For me, it was overwhelming, counterintuitive and counterproductive. That’s why I am starting a newsletter instead and will be sharing about the journey on my own blog and on Twitter.
