Are You An Entrepreneur-in-Hiding? 3 Clarifying Questions
X Handle: @codyjcummings

When you are an entrepreneur-in-hiding, you will never find a job you love.

Entrepreneurs are built differently than employees. Employees value stability and security. Entrepreneurs value freedom.

These three questions will help you figure out if you are meant to be an employee or an entrepreneur.

Income Question: Do You Value Income Stability or the Opportunity to Earn A Lot of Money?

Entrepreneurs sacrifice guaranteed paychecks for the opportunity to create very large paychecks.

Employees know exactly how much money they will make every month. They will never make less than that, but they will never make much more than that either. Entrepreneurs might not get paid at all, but they might get paid more in a month than an employee makes in a year.

Entrepreneurs always opt for the opportunity for large windfalls of money at the expense of knowing when money will come.

Location Question: Do You Value Location Stability or Freedom to Come and Go as You Please?

Entrepreneurs are built to come and go as we please.

Employees go to a specific place until they are allowed to leave. Entrepreneurs can come and go, as long as the work gets done. Entrepreneurs don't ask anyone for permission.

The obligation to be in a particular location stifles the entrepreneurial spirit.

Time Question: Do You Value Time Stability or the Freedom to Work When You Want?

Entrepreneurs are made to work when we want.

Employees like to separate their work from their professional life. Work starts at a certain time and ends at a certain time.

Entrepreneurs are willing to work more hours if that means working when and where we want.
