1/6 A coaching client was talking about trust.

2/6 Their story went something like...
- 'being trusted' has worked so far
- I've been successful all the way
- I've succeeded with every project
- at some point I won't
- I've not had a failure before
- what happens when I fail?

4/6 "Sounds like you equate TRUST with PERFECTION".
What's the difference between...

2/ trusting that someone will clean up any mess that they make...?
...or ask for help to clean it up?

5/6 The client stopped in their tracks.
TRUST === TO GET IT RIGHT
vs.
TRUST === TO CLEAN UP YOUR MESS

6/6 A simple question from a place of curiosity in the moment.

They had their insight.

TL;DR;
1 - listen for distinctions
2 - blurt your intuition
3 - advocate your mental model
4 - inquire of the others' mental models
