Thirty days ago, I signed up for the digital writing course "Ship 30 for 30" by Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole.
During that period, I wrote and published 30 Atomic Essays. I learned the fundamentals of digital writing. I made quite a few friends, and most importantly, I gained much clarity about my writing niche. The journey was challenging and rewarding, and now I am excited to continue writing online.
Here are the three most significant lessons I learned from writing and publishing daily for thirty days:
1. Be consistent and show up every day
Consistency is key if you want to become a digital writer.
Show up every day. Set boundaries and block time for writing. Then, defend these boundaries by all means.
After hitting the "publish" button, you'll feel the accomplishment (and motivation to do it again).
2. Focus on a specific topic and audience
Concentrate on a specific topic and audience.
Your writing will be more targeted and impactful. Ship 30 will help you discover both the topic and the audience. You will connect with your readers on a deeper level.
Over time, you'll establish yourself as an authority in your niche.
3. Find clarity about your writing niche
Writing every day helped me gain clarity about my writing niche.
You learn what topics resonate with your readers. Then you write more about that. Writing and creating meaningful, engaging content will become much more effortless.
Consistency, focus, and clarity will help you shape your space and leave a lasting impact in the digital writing world.
