Time is our most valuable resource because it is finite.

We only have so many hours in the day to get shit done. Some of us use the time effectively, others (me included) don't and feel like we're never on top of our to-do list.

"Do the stuff you have to do so you can concentrate on the important stuff."

Matthew Kimberley

Unfortunately, we get stuck in a cycle of procrastination when we have to do stuff.

There's a big difference between knowing how to do something and actually doing it.

Action and execution get shit done. Action and execution are the art of doing stuff.

Three steps to reclaiming your time and becoming more productive

We like to complicate doing stuff. The reality is that there are 3 simple steps to actually doing it:

  1. Identify the stuff you need to do;

  2. Work out the stuff that:
    a) can be done now
    b) can be done later
    c) can be done by other people
    d) doesn't need to be done at all.

  3. Do It.

That's it.

Tips to help you do stuff

Prioritize - Manage your time so that the stuff that really needs doing gets done.

Analysis Paralysis - Don't make simple really difficult by thinking too much. It's an excuse to not do what you want to do. Make a decision and do it.

Cut your TV + Internet time - Limit Netflix (or stop subscribing altogether), stop searching for porn, and don't get stuck down a YouTube wormhole - you'll be surprised how much times you win back.

Get out of bed - Wake up early and make the most of your day. Getting up early gives you the opportunity to do the stuff you want to do rather than the stuff you feel like you have to do.

To get stuff done, start taking action.
