A steady flow of ideas is essential for consistently creating social media content, which is critical to building momentum and growing your audience.

The surest way to fail at this is to leave it to chance, hoping you'll be "inspired" to create something new every day. I can tell you from experience that you won't. Sometimes, you won't feel creative; other times, an unexpected event will derail your schedule. And so on.

So, let's address this challenge head-on with an artificial intelligence (AI) tool. This can assist you with being more consistent and efficient by helping to generate a preset list of ideas to work on. From there, you can prioritize and plan those ideas out and focus on execution instead of starting each day at a standstill, thinking, "What am I going to post?"

To get started, try entering this AI prompt sequence into an AI tool like Chat GPT or the one I use, which is WriteSonic (affiliate link):

- 20 pain points for [x type of person]

- provide specific examples for each pain point

- elaborate on these examples

- offer solutions for each pain point

- elaborate on these solutions

Of course, you need to research and validate these ideas next as part of producing the content, but at least now you have a place to start.

Add Your Research, Perspective, and Experience

You should also supplement the AI-generated list with your research. There will be important (but more nuanced) ideas you'll miss if you rely too much on AI for your content ideas. Consider this process more of a "Kickstarter" than a replacement for your efforts.

Weaving in your personal style, perspective, and experience is also key to making the content unique and relatable for your audience. People know, like, trust (and hire or buy from) people, not robots. Moreover, generic "information" is too ubiquitous out there now to allow you to demonstrate any level of stand-out expertise, experience, or insight.

Bonus tips: How to Expand this Out Further

Now that you have a list of pain points and solutions, you can "drill down" in each category. Example prompt: Give me more information on x pain point, including specific examples and solutions.

You can also use the original prompt sequence across 3-4 "content verticals" (or content pillars), representing your target niche's main topic categories. I'll have more on that in a future post. In the meantime, this should enable you to generate 100+ content ideas to get you going.

This is just one example of how creators who use AI will outproduce and outmaneuver those who reject or ignore it.
