I’ve been writing online, building newsletters, and growing digital businesses for a while now.
If I could go back and give myself advice at the start, these would be the 3 simple (but powerful) lessons I’d share:
1️⃣ Publish Before You’re Ready
Most beginners overthink, over-edit, and delay publishing because they fear their work isn’t “good enough.”
💡 The truth? Your first posts won’t be great—and that’s okay.
🚀 The fastest way to improve is to publish consistently and get real-world feedback.
2️⃣ Focus on Distribution, Not Just Creation
Writing is important, but if no one sees your work, it doesn’t matter.
📌 Instead of just “writing more,” spend time sharing, repurposing, and engaging where your audience already is.
💡 80% of success in writing online is getting your work in front of the right people.
3️⃣ Monetization Comes Later—Master the Craft First
Most people jump straight into “How do I make money from this?” too soon.
🔑 The writers who succeed are the ones who first:
✅ Build an audience
✅ Master their craft
✅ Offer something truly valuable
💡 Focus on learning, consistency, and providing value—and the opportunities will come.
Honestly, I wish someone had told me these 3 things earlier in my journey.
But at least I can pass them along to you.
