We’re always told to strive for more, aim higher, never settle.
But what if the relentless pursuit of better is actually making us unhappier?
💡 We compare our lives to others.
💡 We focus on what’s missing instead of what’s present.
💡 We convince ourselves that happiness is in the next milestone, not in today.
I’ve been reflecting on this a lot lately, and two things came to mind:
🔹 "Alhamdulillahi ala kulli hal" – A phrase we say after sneezing or when asked how we are. It means "All praise is due to Allah in every situation." But do we truly feel gratitude, or do we say it out of habit?
🔹 The Midnight Library – A book I read a few years ago where the main character gets to experience all the "what if" versions of her life. In the end, she realizes the best life she could have is the one she’s already living.
The Lesson?
🌿 Strive for more, but don’t let it steal your contentment.
✨ Ambition is great, but not at the cost of gratitude.
💡 The happiest people aren’t the ones who have everything—they’re the ones who appreciate what they have.
❓ How do you balance striving for more while staying grateful for what you already have?
