Figma AI is here. And some people worry it’ll lead to more mediocre, standardized designs. I think it’s true, BUT it’s a good thing.

Because Figma AI offers hope to liberate designers from exhausting, repetitive tasks, allowing them to focus on solving problems with creativity and originality.

I quit being a full-time designer because I felt disappointed.

• I expected to craft beautiful designs but ended up facing repetitive tasks.

• I wanted to solve problems but was given fast-food style requirements.

• I dealt with tight deadlines, low budgets, and endless to-do items.

I don’t blame anyone for this reality now, because it was my choice to be a designer.

But I’m 100% not the only designer who feels this way.

*A drastic misalignment* exists between a designer’s expectations and the real world.

We all want to create those amazing UI components on Dribbble, but in reality, we can’t.

To survive, designers need to take boring jobs that are too mediocre to showcase in their portfolios.

So starting with Figma AI, I hope more design tools can liberate designers’ true passions.

Standardized requirements can be satisfied with AI.

And designers will be freed for creative problem-solving.

This is such a beautiful reality, right?

I sincerely hope AI can make designers happy and fulfilled.

So in the future, young designers won’t have to give up their dreams for more practical career choices.

What do you think about Figma AI? Will it be helpful for designers or have negative impacts?
