TikTok is an amazing place for exploring topics you're interested in. For me, that topic was ADHD.

Here are some of my favorite TikToks about ADHD.

1. Dr. Ned Hallowell, an ADHD expert and prolific best-selling author, on why we hate instructions.

"They're boring. And boredom is our kryptonite."

"We'd rather tinker and fail, over and over and over again, than read the instructions."

2. @GeraintWorks: Executive dysfunction vs procrastination

Procrastination is about avoiding something that you're capable of doing – you just don't want to do it. Executive dysfunction is about also not being able to do things that you actually want to do.

"It affects all aspects of your life"

"It can mean that your hobbies, your projects fall off. It can make you feel like you're not fulfilling your potential. It can cause big feelings of failure and fear of failure."

3. "I can do anything. I'm going to make a doctor's appointment." – Harley_Evans13 / @RubyOnyx13

Meds have helped a lot of us accomplish the unimaginable, such as getting started. This is was just funny.

4. "Our brains were designed for survival." – Dr. Ben Rein. dr.brein / @dr_brein

This is a great explainer of how the brain works, including how disruptions of key neurotransmitters – dopamine and norepinephrine – make it harder to maintain attention.

5. "Is ADHD caused by....?

@lesleypsyd / lesleypsyd busts ADHD myths. Is ADHD caused by bad parenting? (no) Trauma? (no) Poor diet (no) Too much screen time? (no)
