Getting good, well-researched data and information about Nigeria's health sector can be very difficult.
Therefore, one of my goals with this series of essays was to create a body of work that gives a quick and easy lay of the land for anyone (founder, investor, or other health stakeholders) looking to understand Nigerian healthcare more. But I’m not the only one writing about this exciting sector.
Today, I’m sharing some of my personal favorite sources of information about Nigerian healthcare in case you want to also check them out too!
Nigeria Health Watch
This is an online platform managed by the Health Watch Foundation, a non-profit organization that uses informed advocacy and communication to promote better access to healthcare in Nigeria. You can get all of the latest health news as well as great commentary and opinion pieces about the happenings in Nigerian healthcare.
TC Health
The platform was founded in 2021 by Temitope Coker. She writes well-researched, analytical pieces and does deep dives on different aspects of the health sector. My favorite one so far is this great piece about bridging the funding gap in health infrastructure.
Digital Health Nigeria
This blog is run by my very good friend and awesome healthtech founder, Neto Ikpeme. As its name implies, this blog focuses primarily on digital health rather than the larger health sector. I particularly enjoy the Healthtech Year in Review he publishes annually (for 5 years in a row now).
That is all for today. Ciao!
