Hi! My content is for you who want to have an antifragile, hyperproductive life, full of extreme happiness on command. Main blog: https://thetotalliving.com/
Whether it is in work or personal life, we easily feel that we are not good enough or will be judged by others at any moment.
It's a deep habit that is hard to break.
But once I realized the following insight, everything changed:
"If we judge something, we cannot accept it for what it is."
Think about it for a second.
If we truly were ok with things being as they are, we would not have opinions about it. Just a simple appreciation and then moving on.
Suppose we have particular opinions on one specific person. In that case, whether it is looks, behavior, status, or something else, we do not appreciate him or her for the human being he or she is.
Accepting every person and ourselves as we are right now allowed me to stop judging
Of course, one has to be present enough to recognize the thought patterns that occur. This is why paying attention to the body sensations is so valuable, I realized.
So next time you feel worked up about someone, try empathy instead. Understand why this person is the way he/she is and accept it. They might have hard things going on in their life and need all the love they can get.
And you can be the one making their day.
