Do you want to take a jump to improve yourself physically and mentally?
These are 3 key things I do, or have, to help myself consistently stay on top of my fitness. The beauty? They are simple...They are inexpensive...and they get everyone results!
Step #1: Get Walking!
I love this one because it is so simple, yet so effective! Just being more active and shooting for 8k(solid starting number) steps a day, has shown to drastically drop mortality rates.
The other positives? There plenty of ways to get those steps in. Family walks for your family's health and togetherness, walking the 4-legged friend, or even just putting on an audiobook, or podcast, to get the mind right! Don't sleep on the steps!
This low impact exercise can dramatically help in dropping weight and fat off of your body. It truly is a low hanging fruit to help kickstart your fitness journey!
Step #2: Weigh Your Food
Buying a food scale is one of the biggest Return of Investments I have ever had! Amazon has a basic food scale for $10...
This tool allows you to see how much food you are actually putting into your body. I am willing to bet you are going to be shocked when you realize how much you have been underestimating how much you truly consume. That is ok though...because with weighing the food, you will still be able to enjoy all foods, but now able to know when enough is enough.
This simple switch I made has allowed me to enjoy foods I love, but still able to shred the fat and lean out!
Step #3: Get an Accountability Partner
You don't have to do this alone. In fact, it is usually a lot tougher to take the next step alone.
My wife is mine. She makes sure I hit my daily goals, and I return the favor. It doesn't have to be the spouse, it can be a friend, family member or co worker. But, having someone to go through the hard days and to push you beyond your mental limits, can be the difference in the new you vs the old you.
It is easy to stay quiet and try to level up alone, and to then quit because no one else knows. It hits different when you are quitting on someone else. Quit watching on the sidelines and get after it with someone on your side!
