CEO at Surple - writing to help businesses make sense of their energy spend and learn how to save

I've been wanting to be more vocal about our work at Surple for some time but it has always been on the back burner. It always seemed as though there was something more important to be doing but I want to start sharing my knowledge in a less formal way (no contract required). In fact, I will be attempting to write every day for the next 30 days as part of the Ship 30 for 30 course I am taking part in and it will all be shared on Twitter.

I want to cover a few key areas in my writing:

  • Energy Policy/Strategy in the UK - my thoughts and feelings around it and how this will affect businesses.

  • Energy Efficiency - what it is, how it works and why you should give it more attention within your business.

  • Building a software company that is trying to make energy efficiency easier for businesses and what challenges we face in the process.

I've never been a writer, but I'm hoping to change that, so please bare with me as I try to make my content work for you. I want it to be engaging but also as simple as possible to follow. Energy efficiency is far too complex already and I just want to reduce the barrier to entry for others.

If nothing else it would be cool if over these next 30 days I can create a reference point for people who are looking into energy efficiency within their businesses.

I hope that if rising energy bills are an ongoing concern for you that you continue to follow this series of mini-blogs and I can open your eyes to energy efficiency as the opportunity/solution.
