Entrepreneur, Intrapreneur. Innovator.
The Fragility Of Corporate Innovation Teams Is Increasing.
Marketplace drifts caused by radical changes in technology, economics, and geo-politics are combining to create an uncertain environment for organizations. Radical shifts in any one area affect the other domains but what we're currently experiencing is causing a pullback in spending and investments.
New, emerging, and evolving technologies such as ChatGPT, Bitcoin and social media are exerting their influence. ChatGPT is already causing disruption among search engines, journalism, and higher education. (Did I really write this article or was it a bot - weird, huh?)
Bitcoin, in existence now for over twenty years with a stellar track record, continues its evolution into the mainstream - albeit slowly. The decentralized nature of Bitcoin has introduced the only true sound money for the digital age. Gold is the only other sound money but it has serious limitations.
Social media also continues to evolve with radical changes occurring at Twitter, Meta, and other upstarts looking to gain traction.
The radical changes in economics are too numerous to mention. A few examples are coordinated central bank printing during and after the pandemic that have significantly increased the money supply leading to many of our inflationary challenges. The power and strength of the US dollar is being threatened leading to the possibility of a bi-polar world order.
Geo-politics are also exerting an outsized influence on global markets with the Ukraine War dominating the agenda. China continues to grapple for the top rungs with Russia, Iran, India and others jockeying to maintain or increase their influence.
This environment produces uncertainty leading to a pullback in growth and innovation investments.
