Not a newbie writer

Amazon is famous for its writing culture, and I enjoyed it. But corporate is not the same as writing online.

Following my own advice on bootcamps, I don’t treat this like a shortcut.

1) Research skill alignment

There is no JD for self-promotion, and it isn't easy for me, but here are my target skills:

• Authentic voice (not just for clicks)

• Find my audience (as a generalist)

• Community building

• CBC as a tool

• New habits

• Analytics

2) Verify credibility

Lots of options, but @ship30for30 and @david_perell bubbled easily to the top based on:

• Comparison reviews (by pros)

• Explicit reviews (by graduates)

• Following the grads

• Read all the things

3) Study beforehand

After being active on twitter for a year, here are some favorites:

5) Followup projects

This one is easy. I already started a blog and podcast, so my followup is really my main focus.

But I also fully expect some new side-projects to come out of something immersive like this.
