When published in 2014, it became the defacto guide for tech companies going global. (later amplified by the pandemic changes)

That makes it a common language for culture conversations with many tech leaders.

The research was 1st at IBM on 100k employees ~50 years ago, making it a durable academic model with decades of analysis.

I also find it useful as a US immigrant to Berlin.
