Business and marketing tips for freelance social media managers | Creators of βš’οΈ The Social Media Managers Toolkit | written by Laura Moore

Most content doesn't work because the creator fails to add a Call To Action (CTA).

They don't add one because they don't know what to say.

So to help you get more engagement on any platform, here are 13 CTAs you can use anywhere.

πŸ‘‡

#1. Ask me anything

This is a good one to add at the end of a post where you've taught something, shared an experience or opinion or even introduced a product.

#2 Share if you agree

If you want to reach new people, shares are valuable. So add this to a post that holds value for someone else to share with their audience.

#3 Follow for more tips

If you've shared something with tons of value and advice then people will want more - you're just telling them how to get it and setting the expectation that you'll deliver (so do!)

#4 Click below for the full lowdown

People rarely click links unless they're told to & know what's on the other side. Use this CTA if you've given a preview of the content available when someone clicks your link.

#5 Drop a πŸ‘‹ if you relate

This one gives people a simple way to show they relate to whatever you said without them needing to think about what to say!

#6 PS - my DMs are always open - come chat!

Giving permission for someone to DM you is good for the lurkers who don't like to comment in public.

#7 Save this for later

If your audience is usually short on time, or your content is worth referring back to then telling someone to save it is a great CTA.

(It also reminds them that saving is an option)

#8 Tap below to get a reminder

People LOVE to be reminded about things they're interested in so use this CTA for pre-scheduled lives, Spaces and events

#9 Get on the waiting list - link is (below/in my bio)

If you've got something new coming a waiting list is a perfect way to build anticipation. But you need to tell people to join it!

#10 Double tap if you agree

(Works best on Instagram obvs)

Telling people the quickest way to engage with you will often result in more reactions - especially if others have already liked the post.

#11 Like it? Do me a favour and retweet it

Asking the reader if they liked it will usually get a yes response, and by asking for a favour in return for whatever you just gave them and giving them a way to thank you, you're making it super easy for them to engage with you.

#12 Sign up below; doors close soon/tomorrow/X date

Adding scarcity to a CTA gives it even more chance of working. This one always works well for us.

#13 Screenshot for later

Yes, a screenshot is an engagement.

No, you can't track it.

Yes, you should still use it!

(2 bonus CTA's for you πŸ˜‰)
