Talk soon, not Goodbye
Danielle Griffin

So, the last of my scheduled posts posted yesterday. That means I will no longer be checking in here regularly.

I am so deeply grateful for all of the amazing friendships I have made with you all. I know many say this and don't mean it, but I do - please, please, keep in touch.

I'm on LinkedIn, FB (though not very active), I have email, and text (don't bother calling since I rarely answer LOL). Also, carrier pigeon is welcome too :-)

I wish you all the best in your writing and I do expect to hear from you soon....especially since I know you can write ;-)

How to Lose a Customer Without Being Rude
Danielle Griffin
  • Step 1: Request photos and documentation to build their hope.

  • Step 2: Provide a vague timeline that depends on parts arriving.

  • Step 3: Discover a secondary problem and leave the customer to solve it alone.

  • Step 4: Maintain radio silence for two fiscal quarters.

  • Step 5: Call back only when the weather warms up and act like nothing happened.

True story...happened to my mom. Don't be this business.

Your AI Strategy Needs an Upgrade
Danielle Griffin

We hear so often from people we work with that they just jump into AI thinking one powerful tool will solve everything ("one ring to rule them all").

But relying on a single AI is like bringing a spoon to a knife fight...just not good enough nor the right tool.

Your AI strategy is likely failing because your one-tool mindset is limiting its true potential.

  • Specialized Superpowers: Each AI tool (ChatGPT, Gemini, NotebookLM, n8n, Claude) has unique strengths. Using the right tool for the right job unlocks peak performance.

  • Integration is the Secret Sauce: The magic happens when you integrate them. Brainstorm with one, visualize with another, and analyze with a third for a powerful workflow.

  • Future-Proof Your Flow: Tech evolves fast...especially now with the tools having updates about every 3 days or so (I wish I was joking). A multi-tool approach keeps you agile, allowing you to swap in new innovations without overhauling your entire system.

Forget searching for the mythical one tool to rule them all. Rather, focus on building an AI toolkit and unleash a symphony of digital assistance.

How to Handle a Morning Meltdown
Danielle Griffin
  • Embrace the ridiculous. A coffee fountain is objectively funny once you stop being the victim.

  • Choose your reaction. Negative energy is a waste of a perfectly good morning.

  • Keep brewing. There is always more coffee in the world.

3 Ways to Blend Tech and Trees
Danielle Griffin
  1. Use Seek to identify the flora on your favorite hiking trail (or the random weeds that pop up on your 2nd story deck garden).

  2. Use Merlin to find out which bird is waking you up at 5:00 AM and which is building a nest in your onion pot.

  3. Use your curiosity to find tech that makes your hobbies feel like magic again.

4 Ways to Make Your Content Sparkle
Danielle Griffin

+1 if you get the sparkle reference

If you are like me (and many, many others), you are likely so very tired of the internet's content slop problem.

I urge you to not be part of that problem.

Here’s how to create pieces that genuinely stand out and connect:

  1. Reader First, Always: Forget what you want to say. What do they need to hear? Solve their problems, answer their questions, entertain them.

  2. Strip Away the Jargon and Acronyms: If a 10-year-old can't understand it, simplify it. Clarity beats cleverness every single time.

  3. Purpose Over Quantity: Don't just publish to publish. Every piece needs a mission: to teach, inspire, or entertain.

  4. Craft It With Care: Your content isn't a factory line. Give it care, attention, and a touch of genuine effort.

The Luxury Trap: When "Wants" Become "Needs"
Danielle Griffin

Remember when AC was a splurge and a smartphone was sci-fi? (or am I just old??)

Now, many extras feel non-negotiable for everyday life.

It's not just you; our collective definition of "basic" has quietly shifted.

Modern living has quietly redefined necessity, turning once-opulent luxuries into the new baseline expectation for a comfortable life.

  • The Rising Floor: What was once premium (like air conditioning or a personal car) is now often seen as a basic requirement for daily function.

  • Silent Creep of Expectation: Societal norms and technological advancements have normalized services like high-speed internet and streaming, making them feel indispensable.

  • Budget Stretch: This expanded definition of "the floor" often means a larger portion of income is now dedicated to these new "essentials."

  • The New Normal: From smartphones to subscription services, these items are no longer seen as optional upgrades but integral parts of modern living.

We're navigating a world where the minimum standard of living demands far more than it used to.

Let ChatGPT Be Your Tiny Habit Bouncer
Danielle Griffin

Your brain would rather eat Apple Jacks for dinner and scroll TikTok than write a single sentence of that project.

Resistance is real. But you can use AI to build a 3-minute momentum bridge.

  • Open a new chat and tell your chatbot of choice to ask you three specific questions every morning. Keep it casual and short.

  • Answer without worrying about grammar, structure, or looking smart. Just get the thoughts out of your head and into the digital ether.

"Habits are the compound interest of self-improvement." - James Clear

  • This removes the blank page syndrome that kills most habits before noon. Forget the masterpiece and focus on just communicating like you would to a friend via a DM.

  • By the time you finish the third answer, you’ve already won the day.

I think my time here (Typeshare) has come to an end
Danielle Griffin
View image

I took the above snapshot of my stats here on Typeshare a bit over a week ago and posted to LI with a question on if I should continue or not.

Apparently my subconscious already knew the answer because I let my streak die without realizing it.

I have gained so many amazing friendships from so many of you on this platform (current and former). You all have been the best thing I have gotten out of my 450+ days here on this platform.

Since I need to reallocate my time to other areas, when my scheduled posts on here run out, I won't be on here regularly, if at all.

If you want to stay in touch, find me on LinkedIn or send me an email.

Thank you for reading and for your friendship!!

Ways to Avoid Building a Masterclass in Customer Loss
Danielle Griffin
  • Audit Your Peak Moments. Look at the most stressful point in your customer's journey. If you leave them hanging when things are broken, that becomes the only story they tell....and to everyone

  • Fix the End Before It Happens. A final interaction without an apology after a long delay is a brand killer. If you're late, own the mess before the customer does.

  • Install a Communication Safety Net. You may not need an overly complex, expensive CRM. A simple recurring calendar invite to check on the people who are waiting for you will work just fine.

Tech Without the Terminator
Danielle Griffin

AI gets a bad rap for wanting to steal our jobs or launch the nukes.

We’ve been conditioned by movies to expect chrome skeletons (at least those of us GenX folks).

However, some of the best uses for this technology have nothing to do with productivity and everything to do with presence.

"Curiosity is the engine of achievement." — Ken Robinson

We contain multitudes.

You can love a high-end AI tool and a quiet walk in the woods at the same time.

These apps don't replace the experience of nature, but can help to enhance it.

  • Seek turns your camera into a botany degree.

  • Merlin turns your ears into a microphone for the wild.

  • Curiosity turns a boring commute into a mini-adventure.

Take some time to explore the tools that uncover worlds you usually walk right past.

Not every algorithm is out to get you; some just want to tell you that’s a Gerber Daisy.

Why I Laughed at a Kitchen Massacre
Danielle Griffin

After brewing coffee on to their floor, most people would spend twenty minutes swearing. I spent those twenty minutes laughing at myself.

Energy is a currency. You can spend it on rage. You can spend it on amusement. The cleanup takes the same amount of time either way.

The "So What?" factor. I had to remake the coffee. That is the whole tragedy. Small things like this aren’t worth wasting negative energy on.

Stories over disasters. A mess is just a story you haven't told yet. Laughing creates a pleasant moment out of a liquid disaster.

Life’s too short to rage at spilled coffee, especially when there’s more coffee to make.

Your Brain Is a Dopamine-Hungry Jesse Pinkman
Danielle Griffin

You’ve been lied to by a brain wired for fast hits and cheap thrills.

We want the email campaign to convert five seconds after we hit send.

We expect the scale to drop the moment we put down the BBQ potato chips.

Progress doesn't play that game.

It prefers to move like Droopy Dog, not Speedy Gonzales.

"Most people overestimate what they can do in a day and underestimate what they can do in a year." - Brian Tracy

Real growth is quiet.

It doesn't scream for attention.

Just a daily insidious visitor and that does the work while everyone else is chasing the next shiny dopamine hit.

Tiny, consistent steps move the needle. Big, desperate leaps usually just lead to a pulled hamstring.

Your habits know you’re trying to cut corners.

3 Ways Luxuries Became Your "Must-Haves
Danielle Griffin

1. The "Floor" Keeps Rising
What's considered "basic" isn't basic anymore.

Think AC, internet, even that daily coffee run → they've moved from "nice-to-have" to "how-can-you-live-without-it?"

2. Everyone Else Has It (So You "Need" It Too)
Social norms and tech advancements make once-premium items feel like a given.

Your smartphone, streaming subscriptions are no longer luxuries, they're just... life.

3. Your Budget Feels the Squeeze
More of your income now goes to what used to be optional.

This silent shift has redefined your financial "essentials," making today's "minimum" a lot pricier.
