How does an agent fill my queue each week?
If you turned on the weekly routine during setup, the agent plans your week every Sunday at 6 PM:
- It reviews how last week's posts performed and what your Digital Brain has to say.
- In Pilot, it asks which topic to prioritize and shows you its proposed plan with Approve plan or Change the plan. It waits for your approval before writing anything.
- In Autopilot, it plans and saves the week on its own.
- It writes posts for the open slots in your queue, filling about 10 days ahead.
The queue settles at about 10 days ahead, so it doesn't pile up week after week. The extra days give you time to review in Pilot before the first posts are due.
If your Digital Brain doesn't have enough material, the agent leaves some slots open rather than inventing posts. Empty slots wait for the next plan, or for you to ask.
Can I ask an agent to fill my queue right now?
Yes. In the agent's chat, ask "Plan the week and fill my queue" (or type /plan). You can also open the routine on the agent's Info tab and click Run now.
You can ask for posts any time, for example "Write three posts from my essay on habits" or paste a link and ask the agent to turn it into posts.
Can an agent quote my post instead of linking it?
Yes, when you ask. Agents don't add your piece's link or quote it unless you ask, in chat or in a routine's message.
- X: ask for quote posts, and each post quotes the piece's own X post.
- Substack Notes: ask for Notes that quote it, and each Note carries your Substack post as a card under it (a Note like this has no images).
The post card shows what it quotes under the text.
How do I quote a post myself?
Paste the post's link on its own:
- Write page (short form): paste an X post or Substack post link into the editor. It becomes a quote card instead of text. X quotes X posts and Substack quotes Substack posts; on every other platform the link goes at the end of the first post, and the editor shows it as that link. Remove it with the × on the card or next to the link.
- An agent's Substack Note: paste a Substack post link in the Note's edit window. The Note quotes it (and has no images). Remove it with the × on the card.
Where do I see the agent's weekly plans?
When the weekly plan routine runs, the agent posts its plan in its chat: what it chose for the week and why.
How do I review posts an agent wrote?
In Pilot, new posts arrive in the agent's chat as a card titled "{N} posts" with how many are left to review.
- Click Review posts (for example Review 3 posts) to open the review window, or Add all to queue to add every waiting post to your queue at once.
- The posts are listed on the left and the one you're on is open on the right, where you can edit it. For each post, click:
- Add to queue (orange): the post goes into your queue. The button shows when: the time you asked for, or "next open slot".
- The arrow next to Add to queue: Post now publishes it right away, and Schedule for a custom time… lets you pick a day and time, then click Schedule. A time you pick can sit close to your other posts; it is only refused when another post on that platform goes out at that same minute ("A post is already scheduled at that exact time on this platform. Pick another time."). With Post now you stay on the post while it says "Posting…"; once it's out, it turns green with a View post link, and Next post moves on.
- After Add to queue or a schedule, the window moves to the next post and a message in the corner says what happened (for example "Added to your queue for Tue 9:12 AM"). Click Undo there to send the post back to waiting for review.
- Reject: the post is cancelled right away and the next one comes up. A bar above the buttons offers "Why? (optional)": type a reason (for example "too salesy" or "we covered this last week") and press Enter. Your agent uses it when it plans and writes your next posts. Undo there brings the post back.
- Skip: move on without deciding. The post keeps waiting.
In the list, a dashed circle is a post still waiting, an orange check is queued, a green check is posted, and a grey cross is rejected. The posts card in the chat uses the same icons, and its label shows how many posts are left to review. Go back to a post you've decided to see where it stands, for example "X scheduled for Tue 9:12 AM" or "X published" with a View post link.
What are the keyboard shortcuts in the review window?
These work even while you're typing in the post:
- ⌘↵ (Ctrl+Enter on Windows): add the post to your queue and move on.
- ⌘⇧⌫ (Ctrl+Shift+Backspace): reject the post and move on.
- Esc: leave the post's text. Press Esc again to close the window.
Once you've left the text, ↑ and ↓ move through the list. ↓ is the same as Skip.
Can I edit a post after it's scheduled?
Yes, until it starts posting. Open it in Review (or Edit) and change the text: it saves as you type and keeps its time. The post goes out with your latest saved text.
Once a scheduled post has gone out, the posts card and the review window show it as posted (green) within about 20 seconds, with its link.
How do I take a post out of the queue from the review window?
Open the post in Review. If it's already scheduled, the orange button is replaced by a red Unschedule button. Click it and the post goes back to being a draft, and its slot opens up. Add it to the queue again at any time.
Can I undo a reject?
Yes. In the Review window, click the rejected post in the list (it has a grey cross), then click Restore. It goes back to waiting for review, with no time, and you can add it to the queue or edit it like any other post.
Why did Add to queue say "A cancelled post can no longer be changed"?
The post was rejected (cancelled) somewhere else after the review window loaded it, for example in another tab or by the agent. The review window then shows it as rejected, with a grey cross in the list. To post it after all, click Restore, then Add to queue.
Why does the review window say "nothing to decide"?
A post that is publishing or published can't be approved or rejected again. When you move to one in the review window (from the list on the left or with the arrow keys), it shows its status, for example "Cancelled: nothing to decide", instead of Add to queue and Reject.
When does an approved post go out?
An approved post takes the next open slot in your queue. Posts you approve one after another take slots in the order you approve them.
Posts waiting for review don't hold a slot. That is why a pending post says "Approve to add it to your next open slot" rather than a date.
The exception is a time you named yourself. If you told the agent when to post ("schedule these at 8:32am and 8:32pm every day"), each post shows that day and time: on the posts card, in the Review window (on the Add to queue button), and on a single post's card ("Approve to schedule it for"). Approving schedules it then. If another post has taken that time by the time you approve, it goes to your next open slot instead.
If your queue has no open slot in the next 90 days, you see: "Your queue has no open slot in the next 90 days. Publish it now, or add days or times to your schedule."
Can I give an agent posts I wrote myself?
Yes. Paste or type your posts in the agent's chat (or share the Notion page or file they're in) and say when they should go out, for example "schedule these at 8:32am and 8:32pm every day for the next 7 days."
The agent posts them exactly as you wrote them. It doesn't rewrite them, and it doesn't ask to add them to your Digital Brain first; they join your Digital Brain once they're published. In Pilot they still wait for your review, and each card shows the time you asked for.
Posts you wrote yourself have no "Where this came from" sources, because the words are yours.
What happens when I reject an agent's post?
The post is cancelled right away and its slot opens up. Your reason, if you gave one, is kept for the agent's planning, so it learns what you don't want.
When you've decided every post, the window shows how many went into your queue and roughly how much writing that saved you (about 20 minutes a post), then Done. Rejected slots stay open until the next weekly plan or queue top-up fills them, or ask the agent in the chat for replacements.
How do I edit an agent's post?
Click Edit on the post's card in the chat, or on the post in the agent's Queue tab. The Edit post (or Edit thread) window opens.
- Changes save automatically as you type.
- From there you can Add to queue, Post now, Requeue or Delete the post. Delete takes it out of the queue so it never goes out.
- Editing a scheduled post keeps it scheduled.
You can also ask the agent in chat, for example "Make the second post shorter". The agent updates that post and keeps its slot.
Length limits: X 280 characters (4,000 with X Premium), LinkedIn 3,000, Substack Notes 4,000. Images: up to 4 per X post, 8 per LinkedIn post, 6 per Substack Note. A video goes on its own: one per X post, LinkedIn post or Substack Note.
How do I add media to an agent's post?
Open the post (Edit, or the review window). Under the post (in a thread, under each post in it):
- Click the image icon (Add media), then Upload media, Choose from media library to pick from Media yourself (click a folder name at the top to see just that folder), or Make a visual to have the Designer make one (see below).
- Or pick Suggest media in the same menu: the agent reads the post, looks through your Media library and its folders, and adds the one photo or video that fits best. You see where it came from ("Added from {folder}") and why it fits.
- In a thread, click + under a post to add a new post right after it.
Don't like a suggestion? Remove it (Remove on the media) and pick Suggest media again for a different one. Something you removed isn't suggested again while the post is open.
If nothing in your library fits, nothing is added and you see why, with Open Media to add something. Only media you uploaded to Media or saved there is used. Videos are suggested only for X posts, LinkedIn posts and Substack Notes with no other media, and only when the video is within the platform's limits.
Suggest media is greyed out when the post already has all the media it can take, or has a video.
Can an agent's Substack Note have a video?
Yes. A Substack Note takes one video on its own (no images beside it), up to 15 minutes. Add it like any media: Upload, Choose from media library or Suggest media. The Substack Agent also picks videos from your Media library for Notes, as it does photos, toward your media share. Typeshare uploads the video to Substack before the Note goes out; a long video starts uploading ahead of its slot. A Substack newsletter takes images only. With a video and anything else on the Note, the editor says A Substack Note takes one video on its own, or images. and Save stays off until you remove one.
How do I have the Designer make a visual for a post?
Open the post, click the image icon (Add media) and choose Make a visual. The Designer reads the post as it's written now and draws three different options in your brand kit, a mix of:
- Cards for a point that is a line, a list or a number. Ready in a few seconds.
- Illustrations for a scene. Ready in up to a minute, and each counts toward your usage like any image the Designer makes.
A window opens with three options from the Designer, each shown as soon as it's ready. Click one and choose Use this one (or double-click it). Want something else? Click More options, optionally type what to change ("warmer colours", "a list card", "show a notebook"), and click Make 3 more for three new ones. The brand kit menu at the bottom left shows the kit they're drawn in: choose another, then Redraw in this kit to redraw the same ideas in it, or Make a new brand kit in the Designer chat. Options you don't pick are deleted; the one you pick goes on the post as a draft.
To make the visual about one part of the post, select those words: a bar appears above them with Make a visual. The Designer makes the visual about what you selected (a card uses those words).
Don't like it later? Remove it and click Make a visual again. You need to have hired the Designer; otherwise you see "Hire the Designer to make visuals for your posts." Agents never make Designer visuals for their posts on their own; only you ask for them.
Why is the agent's icon next to the image button on a post?
The agent is suggesting a photo. The post describes something only a photo you took can show (a place, an object or a moment it names), and nothing in your Media library fits, so it was written as text.
- Hover the agent's icon to see which picture would help. The image button lights up.
- Click the icon (or the image button) to open the media menu: Upload media, Choose from media library, Suggest media or Make a visual.
Photos you add to Media can be used by the agent from then on. The icon goes away once the post has media. To change how many posts the agent pairs with media, see Media on posts on the agent's Info tab.
Agents only use your Media library for the pictures on their posts; they never have the Designer make one. To get a Designer visual instead, choose Make a visual from the image button's menu.
Where can I see an agent's sources for a post?
In the Edit window or in Review, click Sources at the right end of the row with your name, above the post (or press ⇧⌘E). The post shows which words are yours and which the agent added:
- Your words, the ones that came from your Digital Brain, stay as they are. Hover them to see the piece they came from, drawn as it really looks (your X post, or your article with its cover). The part the agent used is highlighted; scroll the card to find it in a long piece.
- The agent's words are in the agent's color (the X Agent's are grey with a dotted underline). Hover them to see what they replaced in your original.
While Sources is on, a dark banner at the top says so, with how many words are yours and how many are the agent's, and everything except the post's words fades back. To edit the post again, press Esc, click the banner, or click anywhere outside the post's words.
On a post's card in the chat, click View sources to see your post next to each full source, with the passages it used highlighted.
Posts you wrote yourself and handed to the agent have no sources, because the words are yours.
Why is the whole post in the agent's color?
The agent didn't record any of your passages for that post, or reworded them so much that no two words in a row are left. The post's sources (View sources on its card) still show what it read.
Where is the agent's queue?
Open the agent's side panel (click its name at the top of its chat) and go to the Queue tab. It shows scheduled posts and open slots, grouped by day.
Click a post to open it (edit, Post now or Delete); one that already went out opens as it looks on the platform, with a link. Click an open slot, or + on a day, to write a post for that time.
Posts still waiting for your review don't show in the Queue tab. Review them from the cards in the agent's chat.
"Your queue is empty" means nothing is scheduled. Ask the agent for posts, or wait for the weekly plan.
How do I publish an agent's post right away?
Click Publish now on the post's card, in its Edit window, or in its menu on the Queue tab. From the Edit window, the window stays open once it's out and shows the post as it went out ("Posted on X"), with View on X (or LinkedIn, Substack) to open it there. While it posts, the card's button shows Posting… and Edit is greyed out. The post goes out once, even if you click Publish now on the card and in the Edit window at the same time. Once it's out, the post's card in the chat shows View on X (or Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads and so on) at the bottom left to open it there, with the time it went out at the right. If publishing fails, it stays open with the reason. In Pilot, if the agent asks to publish, approve the "Publish this post now?" card.
How do I stop a scheduled agent post from going out?
- In the agent's Queue tab, click the post and choose Delete.
- Or open the post (Edit, or click it on the Schedule page) and choose Delete.
- Or tell the agent in chat: "Cancel Wednesday's post".
What is the "Did not publish" section in an agent's queue?
Posts that should have gone out but didn't are listed under Did not publish on the agent's Queue tab: "This post should have gone out and did not. Requeue or publish now."
- Requeue puts it back in the next open slot.
- Publish now sends it right away.
Hover over the post to see why it failed. A common cause is a disconnected account (see "Why hasn't my agent posted?").
What do the statuses on an agent post card mean?
- Draft: written, not queued.
- Needs your review: waiting for you to approve (Pilot).
- Scheduled: in your queue with a time.
- Publishing: going out now.
- Posted: published.
- Failed: didn't publish. Click Try again.
- Cancelled: rejected or removed.
Where do I see what an agent has published?
Posts that went out show on the Schedule page and, from today on, on the agent's Queue tab, marked Posted. Once your Digital Brain has read them, they're in your Digital Brain too.
Can an agent tell me how my posts are doing?
Yes. Ask the X, LinkedIn, Threads, Instagram or Substack Agent, for example "How are my posts doing this month?" or "What worked best this week?". It shows a stats card (posts published, impressions and engagement per post against the period before) and a table of your best posts, then says what the numbers mean. It covers posts published through Typeshare and native posts your Digital Brain brought in.
It can also see how your older imported posts did: ask "How many likes did that tweet get?" and it reads the numbers saved when the post came into your Digital Brain.
Can the Substack Agent tell me how my Substack is doing?
Yes. Ask it, for example "How did my newsletters do this month?" or "Which Notes brought subscribers?". It reads the numbers for your Notes and your newsletter posts, separately or together:
- Newsletters: views, open rate, clicks, new subscribers and paid subscriptions.
- Notes: impressions, likes, restacks, replies, clicks, follows and subscriptions.
- Subscribers: your subscriber count and how it changed over the last week.
It covers posts published through Typeshare (by you or the agent). Your Substack account needs to be connected for the numbers to update.
