Typeshare vs Metricool: Which Is Right for You?

Metricool is analytics with a planner attached: it tracks competitors, builds PDF and PPT reports, pulls in Google, Facebook and TikTok ads, and schedules to Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, LinkedIn and more, priced by how many brands you manage. Its free plan never expires, but leaves out LinkedIn and X, and X is a paid add-on on every plan. Typeshare measures less and writes more: you write once, and agents turn your own words into posts for X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Substack. Pick Metricool if you report on brands for a living; pick Typeshare if the writing is the job.

Which one should you pick?

Pick Typeshare if

  • You write a Substack newsletter or Notes.
  • You want X included, not a $10-a-month add-on per account.
  • You want to do the writing yourself and have agents turn it into posts and publish them, with your approval.
  • You’re one person with one set of accounts, not a list of brands to report on.

Pick Metricool if

  • You manage several brands or clients and need reports, competitor tracking and ads data.
  • You post to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest or Google Business Profile.
  • You want a free plan that doesn’t expire.

Why Typeshare

You do the writing. The robots do the rest.

AI that writes your posts writes what anyone could have said: commodity content that sounds like everyone else. Writing it yourself is how you sharpen your thinking and say what only you can, and that is what grows an audience. So on Typeshare you write, and the agents do everything after: rework it for each platform, make the visuals, schedule and publish.

Questions

Is Metricool free?
Yes, for one brand: the free plan never expires and needs no card, but it allows 20 scheduled posts a month and doesn’t include LinkedIn or X. Paid plans start at $20 a month billed yearly. Typeshare has a 2-week free trial, then $19 or $49 a month.
Does Metricool post to X (Twitter)?
Only with the X add-on, $10 a month per connected account, and not on the free plan. Typeshare includes X on every plan, with posts, threads and X Articles.
Does Metricool support Substack?
Substack isn’t among Metricool’s supported networks. Typeshare publishes Substack Notes and full newsletters from the same editor as your posts.
