Account and settings

What each Settings tab is for, and how to manage your account: email and sign-in methods, your profile details, logging out, switching to classic Typeshare, and deleting your account.

On this page15 sections

What is on each Settings tab?

Open Settings from the account menu (your name at the bottom of the left sidebar) > Settings. On a phone, tap your picture on the home screen, then a row under Settings.

  • General: your sign-in email, Google login, Sign out, Delete account, and (for some accounts) a switch back to classic Typeshare.
  • Profile: your name, username, photo, cover photo (the banner on your profile), bio and links, and what shows on your public profile.
  • Channels: connect or reconnect X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Substack. See the publishing and channels help.
  • Digital Brain: settings for what feeds your Digital Brain. See the Digital Brain help.
  • Writing: publishing queues and defaults for new short-form posts. See the Write and publishing help.
  • AI Usage: your AI usage. Shown on the All-Access plan only. See the Billing help.
  • Billing: your plan, payment and cancellation. See the Billing help.

On an account with no plan, the app shows the upgrade page instead. Click Settings at the bottom of that page for General and Channels (disconnect only).

How do I change my email address?

  1. Go to Settings > General.
  2. In the Email row, click Change email (or Add email if you have none).
  3. Enter the new address and click Send Verification Email.
  4. Open the email sent to the new address and click the link.

When you come back, Typeshare shows "Email updated." Until you click the link, your old email stays in place.

Your sign-in email is also where Typeshare emails you. Changing it does not change the email on your billing receipts.

What does "Not verified" next to my email mean?

In Settings > General, a blue check next to your email means it is verified. Not verified means the address has not been confirmed yet.

An unverified email does not count as a backup way to sign in, so you cannot remove Google login while it is your only other option. If you need your email verified, email help@typeshare.co.

How do I add or remove Google sign-in?

Go to Settings > General and find the Google login row.

  • Add Google: click Connect Google and choose your Google account. When you come back, you see "Google login added." You can then sign in with Continue with Google.
  • Remove Google: click Disconnect next to the Google account and confirm "Remove Google as a way to sign in?" You see "Google login removed."

If Disconnect is greyed out, Google is your only way to sign in. Hovering over it says "Add a verified email or another login first, or you could not sign back in." Add and verify an email first, then disconnect Google.

How do I change my name, username or profile photo?

  1. Go to Settings > Profile. (You can also click Edit Profile on your own public profile page.)
  2. Change Name or Username.
  3. To change your photo, click the round picture and choose an image. To remove it, click Remove picture.
  4. Click Save. You see "Profile saved."

Usernames can use lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens, up to 30 characters. If you see "That username is taken. Try another.", pick a different one. Names of Typeshare's own pages, like about, pricing or help, always count as taken.

Your username is your profile address: typeshare.co/yourusername. Changing it changes that address.

How do I change the banner on my profile?

The banner across the top of your public profile is your Cover photo.

  1. Go to Settings > Profile and scroll below your name and username to Cover photo.
  2. Click Upload (or Change if you already have one), or click the cover photo box itself, and choose an image. It saves straight away and you see "Cover photo saved."
  3. To take the banner off your profile, click Remove cover photo. You see "Cover photo removed."

Wide images work best, about 1024 × 300. A large photo (over 4 MB) is made smaller before it uploads, so you don't need to resize it yourself. The change shows on typeshare.co/yourusername the next time the page loads.

How do I choose what posts show on my public profile?

Go to Settings > Profile and scroll to On your profile. There are two switches:

  • Show imported posts: posts you published directly on X, LinkedIn or Threads, imported from your feeds.
  • Show agent posts: posts your agents published for you.

Turn either on to show those posts on your public profile alongside what you publish from Typeshare. Changes save automatically.

How do I log out?

  • Computer: click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Log out. Or go to Settings > General > Sign out.
  • Phone: tap your picture at the top left of the home screen, then Log out at the bottom.

Logging out signs you out on that device only and takes you to the sign-up page. To sign back in, use the same method as before.

Why does it say "Your session expired. Sign in again."?

Typeshare no longer sees you as signed in, so it could not save or do what you asked. This usually happens when you logged out in another tab or window: logging out signs out every Typeshare tab in that browser, but tabs that were already open still look signed in until you use them.

After a moment Typeshare takes you to the sign-in page. Sign in with the same method as before and you come back to the page you were on. Then try again. Nothing you saved before you were signed out is lost.

Can I switch back to classic Typeshare?

Some accounts can. Go to Settings > General. If you see a Classic Typeshare row, click Switch to classic. Typeshare reloads into the classic app.

The Classic Typeshare row only appears for accounts that used classic Typeshare before, meaning accounts created before the new app opened or accounts that moved over from classic. Accounts that started in the new Typeshare do not have a classic version and do not see this option.

To come back to the new Typeshare, sign in and go to typeshare.co/2/write. If your account has no plan, you are asked to choose one first.

Where did my Voice Profile go?

The Voice Profile (your writer's voice, such as Storyteller, Opinionator, Fact Presenter, Frameworker or F-Bomber) is part of classic Typeshare. It isn't in the new Typeshare.

If your account used classic Typeshare, you can still see it there:

  1. Go to Settings > General and click Switch to classic. This only shows for accounts that used classic Typeshare before (see "Can I switch back to classic Typeshare?").
  2. In classic Typeshare, open one of your drafts.
  3. Click Stats in the editor's sidebar. Your Voice Profile is in that panel.

The Voice Profile needs a paid classic plan (Pro). Without one, the Stats panel shows a blurred example instead.

How do I delete my Typeshare account?

  1. Go to Settings > General.
  2. In the Delete account row, click Permanently delete.
  3. Read the list of what will be deleted.
  4. Tick the box that says you understand.
  5. Type delete my account in the box.
  6. Click Delete account.

You see "Your account was deleted." and are signed out. Deleting cannot be undone.

Why can't I delete my account? It says "Cancel your plan first".

You cannot delete your account while a plan is still set to charge you. This includes a free trial that will turn into a paid plan.

The message reads: "Your [plan] plan is still active. Cancel it in Billing, then come back to delete your account."

  1. Click Go to Billing and cancel your plan.
  2. Go back to Settings > General > Permanently delete.

Once your plan is cancelled (even if it runs until the end of the period you paid for), the delete goes ahead. See the Billing help for how to cancel.

What gets deleted when I delete my account?

Everything in your Typeshare account is deleted permanently:

  • Your agents, their chats, routines and queued posts
  • Your Digital Brain and media library
  • Connected X, LinkedIn and Substack profiles
  • Your usage credits and your login

The delete window also lists your writing that will be deleted, with counts: posts (and how many are published), ideas, collections, publications you own, and your public profile at typeshare.co/yourusername.

If you have used classic Typeshare, the window says "Delete your entire Typeshare account?" Classic Typeshare is part of the same account, so everything there is deleted too.

Posts already published on X, LinkedIn or other platforms are not removed from those platforms.

If you only want to stop paying, cancel your plan in Settings > Billing instead of deleting your account.
