How do I report a problem?
- Open Help & feedback from the account menu.
- Choose Get help ("Something isn't working").
- Under What's going on?, describe what you were doing, what happened, and what you expected.
- Click Send to support.
You see We're on it, along with the email address the team will reply to.
The reply goes to your account email. If your account has no email (for example, you signed up with X), the box asks Where should we reply? Enter an address there.
Messages can be up to 5,000 characters.
How do I send feedback or a feature idea?
- Open Help & feedback from the account menu.
- Choose Share feedback ("Ideas, praise, gripes").
- Optionally answer How's Typeshare going? with Not good, Okay or Great.
- Write under Your feedback.
- Click Send feedback.
You see Thanks for the feedback. It goes straight to the team building Typeshare.
My help message would not send. What now?
If the box says "Could not reach support. Please try again, or email help@typeshare.co." or "This is taking too long. Please try again, or email help@typeshare.co.", your message did not go through.
Click the send button again. If it still fails, copy your message and email it to help@typeshare.co.
How do I see my past chats with Ty?
- Click Ty in the bottom right corner to open the chat.
- Click the clock icon at the top of the chat (Past chats).
- Your earlier chats are listed newest first, each with when it was and the first thing you asked. The chat you have open is marked Current chat.
- Click a chat to open it. Your questions and Ty's answers come back, and you can keep asking in the same chat.
Click New chat at the top of the list to start a fresh one, or the back arrow (Back to chat) to return to the chat you had open. Only you can see your past chats, and each workspace has its own.
My chat with Ty disappeared. Can I get it back?
Yes. Ty keeps your current chat while you move around Typeshare and when the page reloads, so it is usually still there when you click Ty again. If you clicked Start over, closed the tab, or opened Typeshare in a new window, open Ty, click the clock icon (Past chats) and click the chat to bring it back.
Past chats show what you asked (with any screenshots you sent) and what Ty answered. A message card Ty drafted for the team shows only whether it was sent.
Can I send Ty a screenshot?
Yes. Showing Ty a problem is often easier than describing it. Open Ty, then do any of these:
- Click the picture icon (Add a screenshot) to the left of the message box and choose an image.
- Paste a screenshot into the message box (Cmd+V on a Mac, Ctrl+V on Windows).
- Drag an image onto the chat. The chat says Drop a screenshot to show Ty.
Each screenshot shows as a small picture above the message box while it uploads. Click the × on one to take it off. Type a question if you like (or send the screenshot on its own) and press Enter or the send arrow. Send waits until every screenshot has finished uploading.
You can send up to 4 screenshots in one message, as PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF images. Screenshots you send Ty are not added to your Media library.
Can Ty contact support for me?
Yes. Tell Ty what went wrong, or ask for a person. Ty drafts a message to the Typeshare team with the details from your chat and shows it to you in a card. Edit anything you like, then click Send. Nothing is sent until you click Send. The team replies to your account email (if your account has no email, the card asks for one).
Any screenshots you sent in the chat go with the message, and the card shows them ("Your screenshot goes with it."). Click the × on a screenshot in the card to leave it out. To show the team a problem, send Ty a screenshot first, then ask him to pass it on.
Why does Ty offer to show me around?
The first time you open some pages on a computer, Ty pops up with a short offer to show you around: Write, Digital Brain, Media, your Profile and Templates. The editor has a separate tour for each format you can write in: Short Form, LinkedIn Post, Long Form, Atomic Essay and Deck, so opening your first Deck gets a Deck tour even if you have already had the Short Form one.
Click Show me around and Ty opens the chat and walks you through that page or editor, or click Not now. Each tour is offered once. To get one again, open Ty and ask, for example "Give me a quick tour of the Deck editor".
Is there a live demo or Q&A I can join?
Yes. Every Tuesday from 11am to 12pm Eastern Time (New York), the Typeshare team runs a live demo + Q&A on Zoom. We show how Typeshare works, then answer your questions live. Anyone with a Typeshare account can join.
To add it to your calendar:
- Computer: click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, then Live demo.
- Phone: tap your picture at the top left of the home screen, then Live demo under Settings.
Then click Add to Google Calendar, or Add to Apple Calendar or Outlook (this downloads a calendar file; open it to add the event). Either one adds every Tuesday, with the Zoom link in the event, so you only add it once. The box (and Ty) show the time in your own time zone, for example 8am PT or 4pm BST, and a Join on Zoom button from an hour before it starts until it ends.
Why does Ty tell me about the live demo?
On a computer, Ty mentions the Tuesday live demo once, and again on Tuesdays until you add it to your calendar. He tells you when it is (in your time zone) and asks "Want to join us?". Click Add to calendar to open the calendar options, or Not now. While the demo is on, his button is Join on Zoom. Once you add it to a calendar from Live demo, he stops reminding you.
Still stuck? Ask Ty, bottom right. Or email help@typeshare.co.
