Where do I manage my plan and billing?
Your plan and payments live in Settings > Billing.
- On a computer: click your name at the bottom of the left sidebar, choose Settings, then click Billing.
- On iPhone: open your account menu from the Chats screen and tap Billing.
- If you don't have a plan yet, there is no Billing tab: choose a plan on the upgrade page.
The Billing tab shows:
- Your plan: All-Access, Basic, or Free, and whether you're billed monthly or yearly.
- What happens next, for example "Your next payment is on Oct 31, 2026 for $49" or "Your free trial ends on …".
- Any discount applied to your next payment.
- Buttons to manage billing, cancel, reactivate, or pay a failed invoice.
- Plans: the Basic and All-Access cards side by side, with a Monthly / Yearly toggle, to switch plans or billing.
How do I switch from monthly to yearly billing?
- Open Settings > Billing.
- Under Plans, set the toggle to Yearly.
- On your current plan's card, click Switch to yearly billing. (If you see a banner saying "Switch to yearly billing and save $… a year", you can click Switch to yearly there instead.)
- Review and click Switch to yearly.
What happens:
- On a paid plan: you're charged the yearly price today, less what's left of your current month. Then your plan renews every year.
- On a trial: your trial carries on and nothing is charged today. Yearly billing starts when the trial ends.
Yearly billing is two months free: All-Access is $490/year instead of $588, and Basic is $190/year instead of $228.
How do I switch from yearly to monthly billing?
- Open Settings > Billing.
- Under Plans, set the toggle to Monthly.
- On your current plan's card, click Switch to monthly billing.
- Review and click Switch to monthly.
Nothing changes today. Your year is already paid for, and your plan renews monthly when the paid year ends. Until then, your plan card shows when monthly billing starts.
Changed your mind? Click Keep yearly billing on your plan card.
Why can't I change my plan or billing interval?
The Billing tab explains why under the plan cards. Common reasons:
- "Pay your invoice to change plans." Your last payment failed. Pay it first (see "My payment failed. What do I do?").
- "Reactivate your plan to change plans." Your plan is set to cancel. Click Reactivate plan first.
- "You have a plan change scheduled. Keep your current plan to change billing." For example, a downgrade to Basic is waiting. Click Keep All-Access to undo it first.
- "Your plan is paused. You can change billing after …" Wait until the pause ends.
- "Expert Lifetime has no billing interval to change."
How do I update my card or payment method?
- Open Settings > Billing.
- Click Manage billing.
- On the secure Stripe page that opens, update your card.
Manage billing opens Stripe, where you can change your card and download invoices. It only appears once you've started a subscription. Until then the Billing tab says "Manage billing appears here once you have started a subscription."
I'm on Expert Lifetime. Why is there no Manage billing button?
Some Expert Lifetime plans were paid for outside Stripe, so there is no card or invoice to manage. The Billing tab says "Your Expert Lifetime plan is paid for, so there is no card or invoice to manage." Your plan still includes Basic. If you start an All-Access subscription, Manage billing appears for it. If you need a receipt for your lifetime purchase, contact support from the help chat.
Where can I find my invoices and receipts?
- Open Settings > Billing.
- Click Manage billing.
- Your invoices are listed on the Stripe page, where you can download them.
Purchases of extra AI usage are also listed under Recent top-ups in Settings > AI Usage (All-Access).
My payment failed. What do I do?
If a renewal payment fails, a red banner appears at the top of Typeshare: "Your payment failed. Pay your invoice to keep access to …". You keep access while we retry your card automatically, but you should pay as soon as you can.
To fix it:
- Click Pay invoice on the red banner (or in Settings > Billing).
- On the secure Stripe invoice page, pay with a working card.
The card you pay with is kept for your next renewal. You can also change your saved card from Manage billing in Settings > Billing.
While a payment is overdue you can't switch plans or billing intervals. If you'd rather stop instead, cancelling a plan with a failed payment ends it right away and cancels the unpaid invoice, so you aren't charged.
How do I reactivate a plan I cancelled?
If you cancelled but your plan or trial hasn't ended yet, you can undo it in one click. Your card is already on file.
- Click Keep my plan (or Resume my trial) on the banner at the top of Typeshare, or
- Open Settings > Billing and click Reactivate plan.
You'll see "Your subscription has been reactivated." and your plan carries on as before.
Once a plan has fully ended, choose a plan again from the upgrade page instead.
What happens when my plan or trial ends?
When a plan or trial ends (after cancelling, or when payment can't be collected), you no longer have access to the app. Typeshare takes you to the upgrade page, where you can choose a plan again.
From the upgrade page you can still click Settings at the bottom of the page. It has General (sign-in email, Sign out, Delete account) and Channels, where you can disconnect a social account.
Ending a plan doesn't delete your account. Deleting an account is separate (see the account settings doc).
Can I get a refund?
Refund questions are handled by our support team. Contact support from Help & feedback in the account menu (click your name at the bottom of the sidebar) and include what you were charged for and when.
Why did checkout or an upgrade fail?
Common messages and fixes:
- "Could not start checkout." Try again. If it keeps happening, contact support from Help & feedback.
- A message that your card was declined, with "You're still on Basic. Enter a new card on the next page to finish upgrading." Click Enter a new card and pay with a different card on the secure Stripe page.
- "Let's confirm your upgrade" after checkout: your upgrade needs another check. Click Try again on that screen.
