Drafts and post actions

Where to find your drafts and scheduled posts, and how to rename, duplicate, change the format of, hide or delete a post.

On this page13 sections

Where are my drafts?

Your drafts are on the Write page.

  1. Click Write in the left sidebar.
  2. Scroll down past the format cards (or click Scroll down to see your drafts).

The list shows your drafts and scheduled posts together, newest first, with columns for Name, Content, Type and Updated / scheduled. Drafts have a yellow draft icon. Scheduled posts have an orange calendar icon and show when they'll go out. Click Load more at the bottom to see older drafts.

Click any row to open it in the editor.

On a phone, open Write and your drafts are listed under Drafts; tap Show more drafts to see older ones.

If you have none yet, the list says "Your drafts and scheduled posts will show up here."

Where do I find posts I've already published?

Published posts leave your drafts list. You can find them:

  • on your profile: click Profile in the left sidebar to see the posts on your Typeshare profile,
  • on the platform itself: open the post in the editor and use the links in the Published bar above it (View on Typeshare, View on X and so on; a short-form post shows View post for the platform you're looking at), or View on X, View on LinkedIn and similar in the post's ··· menu,
  • on the Schedule page (in the left sidebar): published posts stay on the calendar, faded, on the day they went out.

Open a published post's page in Typeshare (click it on a profile or on Explore) and, under the post, buttons like View on X, View on LinkedIn or View on Substack open it on each platform it went out on. Anyone looking at the post sees them, not only you. The arrow at the top left goes back to where you were.

How do I rename a draft?

In the short-form editor, click the title at the top left (it starts as "Untitled post"), type a new name and press Enter. Titles can be up to 120 characters.

For a short-form post, the name is only for you: it's how the post appears in your drafts list.

In the Long Form, Atomic Essay and Deck editor, click the title in the top bar and type.

What's in the post actions menu?

Every post has a ··· menu (Post actions): at the top right of the editor, and at the end of each row in your drafts list. Depending on the post, it offers:

  • Unschedule: for a scheduled post, takes every platform off the schedule and keeps it as a draft, holding its queue slot (or the time you picked) until you pick a new one.
  • View Post on 𝕏, View on LinkedIn, View on Threads, View on Bluesky, View on Substack: opens the published post.
  • Edit: opens the post (from the drafts list).
  • Export: for an Atomic Essay or Deck, download as PNG images, JPEG images or PDF document.
  • Change Format: turn the draft into another format.
  • Save as template: in the editor only, save the post as one of your own templates on the Templates page (see the Templates help).
  • Duplicate as...: make a copy in any format.
  • Hide From Profile / Unhide From Profile: for a published post on your Typeshare profile.
  • Convert to Draft: for a published post.
  • Delete.

The bottom of the menu shows when the post was last edited.

Why doesn't my export look like the editor?

An export (and publishing) uses the essay as it is saved. If you changed fonts or colours with New brand (+) or the pencil (Edit brand) in the Theme panel, the card shows the change straight away, but it isn't saved until you click Create brand (or Save brand). Until then, Export and Publish stop with "Your brand changes are not saved yet". Click Create brand or Save brand at the bottom of the brand form, then export again.

My export says it couldn't generate the image. What do I do?

Try the export again. An older essay or deck is captured one card at a time, and if any card fails nothing downloads: you see why (for example "Could not generate the image. Try again." or "Could not capture slide 3. Try again.") instead of a broken file. If it keeps failing, ask Ty for help with the post open so we can look into it.

Do emoji and arrows show in my exported or published images?

Yes. Emoji (🚀, ✅) and symbols such as arrows (→, ⇒), check marks and stars are drawn in exported and published images, even when your brand's font doesn't have them. Emoji are drawn in the Twemoji style, so they can look a little different from the emoji on your phone or computer. If an emoji is missing from an image you exported before this was fixed, export or publish again.

Why does my title look like a bubble on a Pills card?

It shouldn't any more. On a Pills card only normal paragraphs are bubbles; a title (a heading), a list or a quote stays where you put it and keeps its own style, in the editor and in the exported or published image. If an image you exported earlier shows the title inside a bubble, export or publish it again.

How do I duplicate a post?

  1. Open the post's ··· menu (in the editor or on its row in your drafts list).
  2. Choose Duplicate as....
  3. Pick a format: Short Form, LinkedIn Post, Long Form, Atomic Essay or Deck.

Typeshare creates a new draft. Duplicating a short-form or LinkedIn post into the same kind of format copies the text, images, platforms, per-platform versions and first comment. It never copies when or where the original was scheduled or published, so the copy is a fresh draft you can post again.

If Duplicate as... is greyed out on a scheduled post, unschedule the post first.

How do I change a post's format?

  1. Open the post's ··· menu.
  2. Choose Change Format.
  3. Pick the new format.

The post reopens in the new format's editor. On the Schedule page it stays in the same window: a Short Form or LinkedIn Post opens in the post editor, a Long Form in the Long Form editor. An Atomic Essay or Deck opens on its own page in Write.

Change Format isn't offered for published posts. If it's greyed out on a scheduled post, unschedule the post first. To reuse a published post in another format, use Duplicate as... instead.

How do I delete a post?

  1. Open the post's ··· menu (in the editor or on its row in your drafts list).
  2. Choose Delete.
  3. In Delete this Piece?, click Delete. The button shows a spinner while it deletes; one click is enough.

This deletes it from Typeshare for good. Posts already on your connected social accounts stay where they are; delete those on the platform itself if you want them gone.

If the post is scheduled, unschedule it first (··· > Unschedule), then delete it.

If you see Already deleted., the post was deleted somewhere else (another tab, or the editor) before or while you clicked Delete. It's removed from your list; there's nothing else to do.

How do I take a published post off my Typeshare profile?

You have two options in the post's ··· menu:

  • Hide From Profile keeps the post published but hides it from your Typeshare profile. Choose Unhide From Profile to show it again.
  • Convert to Draft takes it off your Typeshare profile and puts it back in your drafts. Confirm with Convert To Draft.

Either way, posts already on your connected social accounts stay where they are.

Can I publish a post again after it's been published?

Not the same post. Once a short-form post is published, its button reads Published and its platforms are locked. To post the same content again, open the ··· menu and choose Duplicate as... to make a fresh draft, then publish or schedule that copy.
