How do I schedule a post for a specific time?
- Open the post in the Write editor.
- Click the arrow next to the green Add to Queue button (Publishing options).
- Choose Schedule for later.
- In Schedule this post, pick a quick option (This evening, Tomorrow morning, Tomorrow afternoon or Monday morning) or choose a Day and Time. Times go in 15-minute steps.
- Check the platforms listed and click Schedule.
Times are in your own time zone, shown under the picker. The time must be in the future; if it has passed, you see "Choose a time in the future."
When it's done, the window says Scheduled with the time for each platform, and the post's button changes to Scheduled.
A time you pick yourself can sit close to your other posts. It is only refused when another post on the same platform goes out at that same minute: you see "A post is already scheduled at that exact time on this platform. Pick another time." Pick a time a minute or more away, or use Add to Queue to take the next free slot.
Why can I schedule a post 15 minutes after another one, but Add to Queue skips that time?
Your queue's slots go out within 30 minutes either side of their preset time, so Add to Queue treats any time within 45 minutes of a post on that platform as taken and moves on to the next free slot. A time you pick yourself in Schedule for later (or by clicking an exact time on the Schedule page) is kept as you chose it, and is only refused when another post on that platform goes out at the same minute.
How do I add a post to my queue?
Add to Queue puts the post in the next open slot of each platform's publishing queue, so you don't have to pick a time.
- Open the post in the Write editor.
- Click the green Add to Queue button.
- Add to your queue? lists each platform with the time it will go out. Click Add to queue.
The window then says Added to your queue with each platform's time. Platforms whose queues share a slot post at the same time. Each platform has its own queue, so a platform without that slot, or whose slot is already taken, goes out at its own next slot.
You don't need to set up a queue first. A platform you haven't set up uses its recommended preset (marked (default) in Your publishing queues), and you can change it any time.
If you see "No free slot in the [platform] queue", that queue has no open time in the near future. Pick a preset with more posts in Queue settings, or schedule the post for a specific time instead.
How do I set up or change my publishing queues?
Your publishing queues are the regular times Typeshare posts on each platform. You and your agents share these slots.
Open them from any of these:
- the Publishing options menu in the Write editor > Queue settings,
- Settings > Writing > Publishing queues > Manage queues,
- the gear button on the Schedule page.
In Your publishing queues:
- Pick a platform at the top (X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Substack, Long Form).
- Under "How often do you want to publish on [platform]?", pick Beginner, Pro or Expert (the names differ a little on LinkedIn). The recommended one is marked (default). Each shows its days and times.
The Long Form queue is for long forms from the Long Form editor. Instead of presets, you tap the days you want (Mon to Sun): one long form a day at most, always in the morning. Monday is the default, and at least one day stays on. A long form takes one Long Form slot and goes out to Typeshare, Substack and X at that time; it never takes an X post or Substack Note slot.
The X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Substack queues use these presets only; you can't set your own days and times there. The Long Form queue is the exception: you pick its days (see above).
Times are in your time zone and vary by up to 30 minutes either side, so posts don't go out at exactly the same minute every day. The variation is the same for every platform, so a slot at 8:00 AM might be 8:12 AM on every platform one day and 7:51 AM the next. Changing a queue doesn't move posts that are already scheduled; they keep their times.
How do I see when a scheduled post will go out?
The Schedule page shows every scheduled post on a calendar with its time. See "What is the Schedule page?".
On the Write page, scroll down to your drafts. Scheduled posts show an orange calendar icon and their date and time in orange under Updated / scheduled.
In the editor, a scheduled post shows one line above the platform tiles, such as "Scheduled for Tue, Oct 7, 9:00 AM". If its platforms go out at different times (for example one platform's slot was taken, so it went to its next slot), the line lists each time with its platforms instead, separated by dots, for example "Scheduled · [Bluesky] [Threads] Fri 2:00 PM · [X] Mon 9:15 AM". Once one platform has already posted, the line names the platforms still to go, for example "LinkedIn scheduled for Mon, Oct 26 at 8:10 AM". The Scheduled button shows the time too, for example Scheduled for Tue 9:00 AM. When the times differ it shows the range, for example Scheduled Tue 9:00 AM – 6:30 PM, or the days, for example Scheduled Tue – Fri.
Can I edit a post after scheduling it?
Yes. Open the post from your drafts on the Write page and edit it. Your changes save automatically and the new version is what goes out. Each platform's version stays editable until its scheduled time arrives, then it locks.
You can't add or remove platforms on a scheduled post: Draft platforms says "This post is scheduled or published, so its platforms can't change." See "How do I change the platforms of a scheduled post?".
How do I change the platforms of a scheduled post?
- Open the post in the Write editor.
- Click Unschedule on the "Scheduled for..." line above the platform tiles. You see "Unscheduled. It keeps its slot, [day] [time of day], until you pick a new time." (or "It keeps [time]" for a post you scheduled for a time you picked).
- Add or remove platforms.
- Click Add to [day] [time of day] (for example Add to Tue morning), or Schedule for [time] (for example Schedule for Tue 9:00 AM) for a picked time.
A post you added to the queue keeps its slot after you unschedule it. Scheduling it again puts every platform in that slot, and a platform whose time in it is taken goes to its next free slot. A post you scheduled for a time you picked keeps that time. Either way it stays on the Schedule page as a draft until you schedule it again or pick a new time.
How do I change the time of a scheduled post?
The quickest way is to drag it on the Schedule page (see "How do I move a post on the Schedule page?").
From the Write editor:
- Open the post in the Write editor.
- Click the arrow next to Scheduled.
- Choose Move to a time…, pick a time for every platform, then click Schedule. You see "Moved to [time]".
How do I unschedule a post?
- Open the post in the Write editor.
- Click Unschedule on the "Scheduled for..." line above the platform tiles. Or click the arrow next to Scheduled and choose Unschedule, or choose Unschedule from the ··· menu (Post actions) at the top right.
Unscheduling takes every platform off the schedule. You can't unschedule just one platform: unschedule the post, change its platforms, and schedule it again.
An unscheduled post goes back to being a draft. Nothing is deleted. It keeps its slot if it was added to the queue (the main button becomes Add to [day] [time of day]), or its time if you picked one (Schedule for [time]), and shows on the Schedule page as a draft there until you pick a new time.
How do I post a scheduled post right now?
- Open the post in the Write editor.
- Click the arrow next to Scheduled.
- Choose Post all now.
Every platform still waiting goes out immediately. You see "Posted to ..." listing the platforms, or an error for any platform that failed.
How do I delete a scheduled post?
Unschedule it first, then delete it:
- In the Write editor, click Unschedule on the "Scheduled for..." line.
- Open the ··· menu at the top right and choose Delete.
- Confirm Delete this Piece? by clicking Delete.
Deleting removes the post from Typeshare for good. Posts already published on your social accounts stay where they are.
Why did my post fail to publish?
When you post now, the result window shows Some platforms failed or It didn't post, with the platform's reason under each failed platform. Click Back to the post, fix it, and try again. Platforms that worked stay published.
When a scheduled post fails, open it from your drafts on the Write page. The editor shows "[platform] didn't post:" followed by the reason. Fix the problem, then use Post now, Schedule for later or Add to Queue again.
Common causes and fixes:
- The account needs reconnecting: the connection expired or was revoked. Go to Settings > Channels and reconnect it (see "What does 'Needs reconnecting' mean?").
- Substack session ended: reconnect Substack in Settings > Channels with the Typeshare Connector.
- Substack "You must set a name before posting": your Substack profile has no name. Add one on Substack, then post again (see "What does 'You must set a name before posting' mean on Substack?").
- Too long: a post is over the platform's character limit. Shorten it or split it into a thread.
- Video not accepted: the video is too long, too big or the wrong format for that platform. See the media help on video limits.
- LinkedIn first comment: your LinkedIn connection can't post comments. Remove the first comment.
Before anything is sent, the editor also checks the post. If there's a problem, a red box under the platform row lists what to fix, and nothing is published until you fix it.
What does "You must set a name before posting" mean on Substack?
The full error reads "Substack: Substack rejected the request (400): You must set a name before posting". The message comes from Substack, not Typeshare: your Substack profile has no name, and Substack won't publish a Note until it has one.
To fix it:
- Go to substack.com and log in with the account you connected to Typeshare.
- Click your profile picture, then Settings.
- Fill in your Name and save.
- Back in Typeshare, open the post from your drafts on the Write page and use Post now again. Platforms that already worked stay published.
You don't need to reconnect Substack.
What is the Schedule page?
Schedule is a calendar of everything going out: posts you scheduled or queued from Write (short form, LinkedIn posts, Long Form, Atomic Essays and Decks), and posts your agents have in the queue, plus what already went out. Click Schedule in the left sidebar (under Write), go to typeshare.co/2/schedule, or ask Ty to open it. The old Queue page address (/2/queue) now opens Schedule.
- Week and Month switch the view. Today jumps back to now, and the arrows move a week or a month at a time.
- The orange line with Now marks the current time on today.
- Each post shows who it's by (your profile picture and You, or the agent's face and name), its first line, the platforms it goes to and its time. A post going to several platforms is one entry, with the range of times when they differ. Published posts are faded.
- Dashed boxes are open queue slots, named for the time of day (Morning, Midday, Afternoon, Evening), with the platforms that post then. In week view a slot covers the hour its posts can go out in, because its time varies by up to 30 minutes either side from day to day.
- A long form shows where it goes (Substack, X) and its title. It always goes on your Typeshare profile too, so Typeshare is only shown when it's the only place it goes. Long Form slots are their own dashed boxes, named Long Form (or Long Form #1, #2… when you publish more than one a week). An empty one shows where a long form goes by default: the platforms you saved with Save as default platforms in the Long Form editor, or every connected one until you do.
- An agent post that didn't go out stays on its day, outlined in red with Did not publish. Click it to Requeue it or Publish now (see "What does 'Did not publish' mean on a queued post?").
- A Substack newsletter on Substack's own schedule says On Substack: Substack sends it at its time. One that says Confirm with Substack is waiting for the code Substack emails you: click it, then Confirm with Substack (see "Can the Substack Agent schedule my newsletter?").
- The gear button opens Your publishing queues.
Drafts and agent posts waiting for your review are not on Schedule. Review those in the agent's chat or the Inbox.
Why isn't my scheduled Atomic Essay, Long Form post or Deck on the Schedule page?
It should be: every post you schedule from Write shows on the calendar on the day and time it goes out, whatever its format. Make sure you're on the right week or month, then refresh. If it still isn't there but its draft on Write shows the orange calendar icon with a date and time, contact support from the Ty chat.
How do I schedule a post from the Schedule page?
- Into a slot: click a dashed slot. The editor opens over the calendar with that slot's platforms selected. Write the post and click Add to [day] [time of day] (for example Add to Tue morning). Every platform in that slot posts at the slot's time that day (within 30 minutes either side of its preset time), the same way Add to Queue works. If a platform's time in that slot is already taken, that platform goes to its next free slot.
- A long form: click a dashed Long Form slot. A new long form opens in the Long Form editor; click Add to [day] [time of day] to book it there. Clicking a scheduled long form opens it in the Long Form editor, and dragging it moves every platform it's booked on to the new time.
- At an exact time: in week view, hover over an empty part of a day to see the time, then click. The post is for exactly that time, even on a day with open slots. Write the post and click Schedule for [day] [time] (for example Schedule for Fri 3:30 PM). Every platform goes out at that time.
The post appears on the calendar as soon as it's booked. Click the X at the top left of the editor, or click anywhere outside it, to close it without posting; your writing is saved as a draft. If you refresh the page while the editor is open, it opens again on the same post.
How do I edit, publish or delete a post on the Schedule page?
Click the post on the calendar.
- Your short-form and LinkedIn posts open in the editor over the calendar. Edit them there, or use the arrow next to Scheduled for Post all now, Move to a time… or Unschedule. To delete one, unschedule it, then choose ··· > Delete: the editor closes and you're back on the calendar.
- Your Long Form posts open in the Long Form editor over the calendar.
- Your Atomic Essays and Decks open in their own editor on Write. Change, unschedule or publish them from there.
- Agent posts open in a window with the post and when it goes out. Changes save on their own as you type; click Save at the bottom right to save and close (closing with the X at the top right saves too). Use Post now to send it right away, or Delete to remove it from the queue so it never goes out. Under the time, Posts on shows where it goes and lets you add your other connected platforms (see "Can an agent's post go out on my other platforms too?"). Under each post, the circle and number in the bottom right count its characters; hover them to see the platform's limit.
- Agent posts that already went out open as a preview of the post as it looks on the platform. You can't edit them there. See the next question.
Can an agent's post go out on my other platforms too?
Yes, while it's scheduled. On the Schedule page, click the agent's post. Under the time, Posts on shows the agent's own platform first (always on, it can't be turned off), then your other connected accounts (for an X agent's post: LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Substack, whichever you've connected). Click one to turn it on: it gets a dark outline and the post also goes out there at the same time. Click it again to turn it off.
It's the same post, not a second one: the calendar shows it as one entry with every platform it goes out on, with their logos. Each platform shows your account's photo and name. X counts at your X account's limit (4,000 characters with X Premium, 280 without).
An Instagram Agent post (a picture, a carousel, a Reel or a video) can go out on your other platforms too: its caption is the text and its pictures or video go with it. A platform that can't take the media can't be turned on, and you see why: X and Bluesky take up to 4 pictures, LinkedIn up to 8 and Substack up to 6, or one video on its own (not a video mixed with pictures); Threads takes up to 20 of either, mixed. Stories don't go anywhere else.
A platform the post is too long for can't be turned on: hover it to see by how much, then shorten the post. Once a platform is on, an edit that makes the post too long for it won't save: you see why ("This post is 312 characters. X allows 280 per post. Shorten it, or turn X off under Posts on."). Shorten it, or turn that platform off first.
The other platforms follow the agent's post:
- Edits to the words or media go out everywhere, since it's one post.
- Moving it to another time (dragging it on the calendar, or changing its time) books the other platforms at the new time too.
- Post now sends it on every platform right away. If the agent posts it early, the other platforms go then too. A video can take a few minutes to process on Instagram or Threads: Post now then says "The video is still processing. It posts as soon as it’s ready." and it goes out on its own, with no need to click again.
- Delete, sending it back for review, or deleting the agent cancels the other platforms too.
- If the post fails on the agent's platform, the other platforms are cancelled so nothing goes out on its own. Schedule it again and they're booked again.
What happens if one of an agent post's other platforms can't take it?
You're told. If turning a platform on fails, you see why and it stays off; the platforms already on stay booked. If a move can't be booked on one of the other platforms, a message says which and why, and that platform shows on the calendar as its own entry marked failed. Open the post and turn the platform on again to book it at the post's time, or turn it off.
Posts on isn't shown when you have no other platform connected, for newsletters, X Articles and Instagram Stories, for posts waiting for review, or once the post has gone out. Platforms can't change in the last two minutes before it goes out.
How do I move a post on the Schedule page?
Drag it. Any post that hasn't gone out yet can be moved: yours, your agents' and dashed Draft posts holding a slot. A Long Form post moves every platform it's booked on to the new time. Atomic Essays and Decks can't be dragged: open one and change its time in its editor on Write.
- Into a slot: drag the post onto a dashed slot. While you drag, the slots it can go into are outlined in orange. Each platform takes its own time in that slot, the same way Add to Queue works. An agent post can only go into a slot for its own platform.
- To an exact time: in week view, drag the post over a day. An orange line shows Move to [time] in 15-minute steps; let go to move it there. Every platform goes out at that time.
- To another day: in month view, drag the post onto a day. It keeps its time of day.
You see "Moved to [day and time]" when it's done. If a post (yours or your agent's) is dragged to an exact time where another post on the same platform already goes out at that same minute, the move is refused with "A post is already scheduled at that exact time on this platform. Pick another time." and the post stays where it was. A post dropped into a slot that another post took meanwhile is refused with "That platform queue slot is already occupied. Choose the next free slot." The calendar reloads, and that slot no longer shows as open for the post's platform, so drag it onto another slot. A post can't be moved to a time that has passed, or once it is less than a minute from going out. Posts that already went out, or that didn't publish, can't be dragged.
In an agent's Queue tab you can drag a post onto another open slot the same way.
How do I see an agent post that already went out on the Schedule page?
Click the post on the calendar (or in an agent's Queue tab). It opens as a preview of the published post, just as it looks on X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky or Substack. A post that already went out can't be edited.
- View on X (or LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Substack), at the top right: opens the post on the platform.
- If the post went to more than one platform, the top left says "Posted to 3 platforms" (or however many) with one icon for each. Click an icon to see the post, its numbers and its View on link for that platform.
- Performance on X (or the platform you picked): cards for views, likes, replies, reposts, quotes and bookmarks (whichever the platform reports), and the engagement rate.
- Digital Brain: the post's Brain Score, what it added to your Digital Brain (like +7). "Updated 2h ago · next in 1d" says when the numbers were last read and when they're read next.
- Sources: for an agent's post, where its ideas came from.
Close it with the X at the top right, Escape, or a click outside.
What does "Did not publish" mean on a queued post?
Did not publish means a queued post's time passed and it didn't go out. Hover the label to see why:
- The platform refused it (the platform's reason is shown).
- It wasn't approved before its slot passed. Approve it into the next slot or publish it now.
- Its slot passed without being sent. Requeue it or publish it now.
Open the post with Edit, fix anything needed, then click Requeue to put it in the next open slot or Publish now to send it right away.
What does an agent's Queue tab show?
A preview of that platform's whole queue for the next two weeks, the same as the Schedule page: every post going out on that platform (the agent's and the ones you scheduled yourself), posts that already went out today (marked Posted), and your open slots as dashed boxes. Click a post to open it, drag it onto another open slot to move it, click an open slot (or + on a day) to write a post for it, and Show more to see further ahead.
Why is there a dashed "Draft" post in one of my slots?
You started a post from that slot (on the Schedule page or an agent's Queue tab), wrote something, and closed the editor without scheduling it. It keeps its place in the slot so you can find it again, marked Draft · not scheduled (just Draft on the week calendar).
- Click it to open the draft and carry on. Queuing it from there puts it in that slot, and it becomes a normal scheduled post.
- If you delete the draft, or clear all its text, it leaves the slot.
- A draft never goes out on its own: until you schedule it, nothing is posted.
What is the Queue view on the Schedule page?
Next to Week and Month, Queue shows every platform's queue as one list you scroll down, starting today: your posts, your agents' posts and your open slots, day by day. Click Show more at the bottom to see further ahead. The Schedule page opens on whichever view you used last (Week until you pick another).
Where does "+" on a day put my post?
In that day's next open slot, if it has one. If the day is already full, it picks the nearest free half hour, so the post doesn't land on a time another post already has.
Why does the Schedule page say "This draft was deleted, or is in another account"?
The Schedule page keeps the post you have open in its web address, so a refresh or a reopened tab opens it again. If that post was deleted since (on another page or in another tab), or the link is from a different Typeshare account, there is nothing to open. Click Close (or anywhere outside the editor) and carry on; your other posts are unaffected.
