How do I build a daily writing habit?

Typeshare is built around publishing every day: your public profile shows a writing streak, templates and the Ideas panel give you something to start from, and publishing queues post on a regular schedule so a day's writing has somewhere to go. It was made by Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole, the founders of Ship 30 for 30, whose daily habit is the Atomic Essay.

How does the writing streak work?

Your streak is the number of days in a row you have published at least one post through Typeshare. It shows on your public profile (for example "12 day streak"), next to how many posts you have published.

  • Posts you publish from the editor count, and so do posts your agents publish for you on X, LinkedIn or Substack.
  • The streak uses whichever timezone gives you the longest run, so posting late at night or early in the morning won't break it. Miss a full day without publishing and it goes back to 0.

What should I write each day?

Three places to start when the page is empty:

  • Ideas panel: click Ideas at the top right of the Write page. It suggests post ideas from your Digital Brain, either from your topic interview answers or remixes of things you've already written into angles you haven't covered. Pick a format and click Write. The draft starts with only the idea's title; you write the post.
  • Templates: click Templates in the left sidebar for ready-made outlines for posts, threads, LinkedIn posts and Atomic Essays, with blanks to fill in. You can save any of your own posts as a template too.
  • Topic interviews: on the Digital Brain page, open a topic and click Teach your Digital Brain about [topic]. You answer up to 20 questions, then Turn your answers into posts opens the Ideas panel with ideas from your answers.

What is a good daily format?

The Atomic Essay: one idea in 400 words or fewer, laid out as a single shareable image. Writing one a day is the habit Ship 30 for 30 is built on. Typeshare's Atomic Essay editor publishes it to X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Substack Notes and your profile (see What is an Atomic Essay, and how do I write one?).

Can I write ahead and post every day?

Yes. Each platform has a publishing queue of regular days and times. Pick Beginner, Pro or Expert for how often you want to post, then click Add to Queue on each post to take the next open time. Write a week of posts in one sitting and they go out one by one.

Can agents keep me posting on busy days?

On the All-Access plan, publishing agents for X, LinkedIn, Threads and Substack Notes turn your past writing into posts and fill your queues on the schedule you choose. Posts your agents publish on X, LinkedIn or Substack count toward your streak. In Pilot mode nothing goes out until you approve it.

How much does it cost?

Basic is $19/month (write, schedule and publish everywhere). All-Access is $49/month and adds the agents. Both have a 2-week free trial, and yearly billing is two months free. See pricing.
