Can I import my old tweets, LinkedIn posts and newsletters?
Yes. Typeshare imports what you've already published on X, LinkedIn, Threads and Substack, and on your website or blog, into your Digital Brain. You connect each account once, the import runs in the background, and new posts are read in every day after that. Your agents and the Ideas panel then work from your own past writing.

What can I import?
- X: your posts and threads.
- LinkedIn: posts you wrote yourself (reposts are skipped).
- Threads: your posts and threads. Replies to other people and reposts are left out.
- Substack: your newsletter posts on every publication you write for, paid posts included, and your Substack Notes.
- Websites and blogs: WordPress, Medium, and blogs with an RSS feed or sitemap. Other sites are read page by page.
Only published posts are imported, not drafts. Bluesky posts aren't imported.
How far back does it go?
- X: your last year, up to 1,000 posts. Upload your X archive to add everything older.
- LinkedIn: up to your last two years.
- Threads: your last two years, up to 1,000 posts.
- Substack: your last 500 posts per publication, and your last 500 Notes.
- Websites and blogs: your last 500 posts per site (200 on sites read page by page, like Ghost, Squarespace or Webflow).
How do I start an import?
Click Digital Brain in the left sidebar, then click Import and choose From X, From LinkedIn, From Threads, From Substack or From a website or blog. You can also connect accounts in Settings > Channels.
- X and Threads: confirm "Is this your X account?" (or Threads) and the import starts.
- LinkedIn: LinkedIn doesn't share your profile address, so paste your profile link (like
linkedin.com/in/your-name) and click Import my posts. - Substack: connect it through the free Typeshare Connector extension for Chrome (see How do I schedule Substack Notes?) and answer Yes, this is my account.
How do I add my older tweets?
Upload your X archive, once. In Settings > Channels, click the X row and click Upload X archive for older posts. Request the archive from X (it can take a day), then upload the .zip. The archive is read on your device, and only your posts' text is sent to Typeshare, never your messages or photos.
How long does it take?
Imports run in the background, so you can close the page or keep working. Posts arrive newest first and show up as they are read and sorted into topics. Larger histories take longer.
What happens to the posts after import?
Typeshare pulls out the separate ideas in each piece and sorts them into topics. You can open any old post and click Remix to start a new draft from it. On the All-Access plan, your agents turn them into new posts for X, LinkedIn, Threads and Substack Notes, using only your own words (see How do I turn my newsletter into LinkedIn posts and tweets?).
When the same words went out on several platforms, the copies are linked, and only the first counts toward your Brain Score.
Which plan do I need?
Importing needs an active trial or paid plan. Basic is $19/month and All-Access (with agents) is $49/month (see pricing), both with a 2-week free trial. If your plan ends, imports pause and the posts already in your Digital Brain stay.

More in What Typeshare does
Where can I publish with Typeshare?
Typeshare publishes to X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Substack (Notes and newsletters), plus your own Typeshare profile. You write once, choose the platforms, and post now or schedule. Instagram is coming next.
Can I post to X and LinkedIn at the same time?
Yes. In Typeshare you write a post once, switch on X, LinkedIn and any other platform you use (Threads, Bluesky, Substack Notes), and publish or schedule it to all of them in one go. Each platform keeps its own character limit and formatting, and you can write a different version for any of them.
How do I schedule Substack Notes?
Typeshare schedules and publishes Substack Notes, one at a time or as a regular queue, alongside your posts for X, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky. It also publishes and schedules full Substack newsletters. Substack connects through the free Typeshare Connector extension for Chrome.
How do I write and schedule X threads?
Typeshare has a thread editor for X, Threads and Bluesky: write the whole thread in one place, see each post's character count, add images to any post, and publish now or schedule. The same thread can go to LinkedIn and Substack Notes as a single post.
Does Typeshare write in my own voice?
Yes, because Typeshare's AI only uses your own writing. Your Digital Brain collects everything you've written (your X, LinkedIn, Threads and Substack posts, your blog, your notes), and Typeshare's agents turn that into new posts. They never invent stories, numbers or opinions, and every post shows the passages it came from.
What is an Atomic Essay, and how do I write one?
An Atomic Essay is a short essay of up to 400 words, about one idea, published as a single shareable image. The format comes from Ship 30 for 30, the writing course by Dickie Bush and Nicolas Cole, the founders of Typeshare. Typeshare has an Atomic Essay editor that lays your essay out as an image and publishes it to X, LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky, Substack Notes and your Typeshare profile.
